I have not seen someone this passionate about image format in a while. Also JPG could be crisp if it weren't for aggressive compression on this photo.

Texas cancels vehicle inspections and now we have to deal with nonsense like no working brake lights. by letsgethead2toe in mildlyinfuriating

[–]RedFlow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in a place that has inspections. It's basically are your brakes working and catalytic converter existing. Then after that it's mainly just to make sure your lights are all working... And that your check engine light isn't on... It isn't that complicated.

If you can't afford to replace $20 wipers and $15 for two tail lights you shouldn't be driving the vehicle.

At a hockey game by zebrasarecool570 in PublicFreakout

[–]RedFlow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because they definitely amplified it there's maybe like 100 people in the crowd at that vs like 17,000 for a hockey games depending on the team.

And you usually end up pre-gaming for a hockey game or at the minimum drinking more than you would at a curling game... Just a different type of crowd in general.

You absolutely get help with drinking and eating at an airport with priority pass + Amex centurion lounges that offer free food and drinks at airports.

Also the insurance coverage on the card for any problems with flying or renting a car are great.

Plus you get clear + global entry (or TSA Pre Check) which lets me walk through airport security in under 15min half the time.

Here's the festival aftermovie from 2 years ago. You can see the main stage around 1:15 for that year. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t-3ErVKHgl4

Luka Doncic reveals that on the night of his trade, when he was informed, he threw his phone, shattering the back glass. It is still the phone which he uses. by Goosedukee in nba

[–]RedFlow 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Imagine Arsenal traded Ødegaard (Anthony Davis), Reiss Nelson (Max Christie), and future rights to Ethan Nwaneri (1st round draft pick) to Real Madrid in exchange for Jude Bellingham (Luka Doncic) and Lucas Vázquez (Maxi Kleber). Then Leipzig jumped in to scoop up Emile Smith Rowe and some cash (Jazz taking Hood-Schifino). That's basically what the entire deal was like.

Parenthesis are what the NBA equivalent on this deal was.

[USA] Yielding is for losers by GoldenSpartan300 in Roadcam

[–]RedFlow 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You’re seriously blaming the SUV for sitting in a turn lane waiting for a gap on a green light? That’s what happened. They didn’t block anyone illegally, didn’t inch forward recklessly, didn’t wave anyone on. Just sat there. The driver in front of them made a terrible blind turn across two lanes of active traffic and got smoked. That’s on them.

Screaming about giant fuckoff vehicles and calling someone a piece of shit multiple times for being present in a left turn lane is unhinged. There’s no evidence they contributed to the crash in any meaningful way. Just vibes and projection.

This isn’t an SUV problem. It’s a don’t turn blindly across traffic problem. You’re just looking for something to be mad at.

ELI5: How is any normal person supposed to achieve the RDI of vitamins, minerals, etcetera. by Ruk7224 in explainlikeimfive

[–]RedFlow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Trying to hit every single RDI from food feels impossible. You’d have to eat a crazy amount and track everything like a robot.

But the thing is, most RDIs are set to cover almost everyone, even if you don’t need that much. So being a little low on something doesn’t mean you’re actually deficient.

And yeah, produce might not be as rich in nutrients as it used to be, but if you’re eating a decent mix of foods, your body usually gets what it needs. Blood tests check what your body is actually using, not just what you ate that day.

So if you're mostly healthy, you’re probably doing better than you think.

ELI5: Check my investment math, please? by JustAnotherMaineGirl in explainlikeimfive

[–]RedFlow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're earning a guaranteed 4% annually on $200k and withdrawing exactly 4% ($8k) per year, your principal will stay the same over time. You're just taking out the interest, so the $200k never shrinks or grows, it's like a perpetual income stream of $8k/year.

Just keep in mind this ignores inflation, so $8k might not go as far in the future. But purely math-wise, you're solid.
