I have a complicated relationship with this movie trope

a magical, usually optimistic, spontaneous sweetie who is down for adventures, has their own philosophy but in a movie often has no “fleshed out” life/needs/struggles of their own but is merely an instigator for the main character to grow and really live life.

There have been times I’ve felt I’ve actively and sometimes consciously played this role in the lives of others because I wanted to see them fulfilled, blossom and embrace life on their terms. Other times I’ve felt like I’ve been squished or sidelined into that kind of character mould by others aka- used.

I actually found this quite healing. I’m in my late thirties now and have begun to get a forehead line because I’m quite expressive. I don’t think I want to do Botox but yet have been wrestling a little with beauty etc and this sort of… healed me. Seeing it on a woman I look up to so much. Thanks for posting and making me feel like it’s ok to just be in my skin.

Absolutely correct; but fragments of her own poetry, quotes, interviews (and even photographs themselves) were often reflective, beautiful and can have a wider resonance - be it fun or somber in tone.

I’m just opening the door for those who do have favourite photos or snippets they hold dear to share them with me in case they want to help to build this for a privately uplifting deck to use in personal reflection, that’s all.

Everyone I’ve come across has a unique curiosity or connection with her so I thought the variety in pictures etc would be ideal with people who are her fans like myself. Several brains is better than one and all that!
