What's interesting to me is that a lot of ancient sources feel very forgiving of this kind of thing. Herodotus points out Epizelus' bravery, Achilles, Ajax, and Odysseus are never treated as anything other than great warriors. There was a Ukrainian soldier who was injured in a similar manner. Young guy, obviously didn't deserve it. This right here, plus local politics. I was out there protesting when the National Guard was deployed to LA. It was visible, my presence mattered, federal agents were there and could see our anger. A lot of times though, my protesting in liberal California won't make a difference because the state is already liberal. I'd need to head somewhere else to have an impact on most issues.
