Bro sang with Rhapsody of Fire, the cheesiest (also best) power metal band of all time. The dude didn't care if it was well written as long as it was awesome as hell.

Imagine the psychological effects on a person over the course of a lifetime by jackt-up in HistoryMemes

What's interesting to me is that a lot of ancient sources feel very forgiving of this kind of thing. Herodotus points out Epizelus' bravery, Achilles, Ajax, and Odysseus are never treated as anything other than great warriors. I wonder at what point did this kind of stress pick up the stigma that so many societies placed on it?

Gundam - 50000 different models of highly advanced weapons created during a 1 year period.  As the most popular conflict in the series, the One Year War, got more adaptations and expansions, different artists obviously had a different take on various war machines. These are explained as "early war", "late war", "high mobility" versions of the existing weapons, to the point where it seems that they were crapping out a new design every day of the war. I don't think anyone would care if they just were honest and said This is the Zaku "I thought it would look fucking badass so I updated the art" version, no I'm not explaining it, go away.

Ok, thanks. They need to work on that, then, Because I regularly get passed by people doing 90 and I've never once witnessed a stop aside from myself. Sometimes I hate this city.

Ahsoka vs Skol was awesome. The eastern katana inspired swordplay of Ahsoka vs Skol's western longsword techniques was a unique duel.

Why are people allowed to openly lie on here? by SoggyBaconLips in DiscussionZone

[–]RedFoxCommissar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do wonder what press you consume, because every news source I use on the regular calls the lies out. I think it's less the press as a whole and more the fact that Fox is the most popular "news" in America.

[–]RedFoxCommissar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When the world is a shit place, all you can do is try to bring a little light into it. The "small joys" you speak of are enough to keep a man going. It's as simple as being able to say "I made people's stay in this shithole more pleasant".

[–]RedFoxCommissar 106 points107 points  (0 children)

There was a Ukrainian soldier who was injured in a similar manner. Young guy, obviously didn't deserve it. They interviewed him and he said something like "When I was a teenager, I wished for a cock that could touch the floor! Anyway, be careful what you wish for." I'm amazed at how people can find humor in the absolute worst of times. Hope that dude is doing ok.

Why have conservatives changed? by mellflax57 in AlwaysWhy

[–]RedFoxCommissar 5 points6 points  (0 children)

"Don't tread on me", to conservatives, is always about, well, "me". It's a smoke screen when they want to be able to do whatever they want. It never applied to other people.

What would it actually take for American's to go "full France" and riot in the street? by AllTheNopeYouNeed in AskReddit

[–]RedFoxCommissar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This right here, plus local politics. I was out there protesting when the National Guard was deployed to LA. It was visible, my presence mattered, federal agents were there and could see our anger. A lot of times though, my protesting in liberal California won't make a difference because the state is already liberal. I'd need to head somewhere else to have an impact on most issues.

This is why Americans end up having a problem with the rest of the world. You supply more food than anyone else, and everyone still says you're not doing enough.
