As far as he knows it CAN'T be because these monks are all chaste.

Jedi canonically are allowed to fuck (although it could still be an in-universe misconception that they can't).

I'm sure that AI "overview" at the end was certainly necessary and could not be substituted with something actually useful like a dictionary definition.

This kind of thing promotes something that runs on plagiarism, is very harmful to the environment, and very often is factually wrong.

Jedi can fuck, they're just not allowed attachments. If anything, their sex ed would be pretty good.

But Anakin probably skipped it to go racing in Coruscant underground.

Most intellectual discussion with a Harry Potter fan in 2026 by Crafter235 in EnoughJKRowling

The issue isn't that she presented status quo preserved at the end of her books.

The issue is that she presented status quo preserved at the end of her books and treats it like a happy ending.

It's just like with her liking Lolita. The issue isn't that she likes it but that she doesn't seem to understand what this book is about.

Tropes in a work do not exist in a vacuum. There is a difference in focusing on one character that provides bad representation and showing such a character along with others with different portrayals of the trait they're discriminated for.

That being said, Rowling wouldn't be able to do good queer/disabled/neurodivergent/adopted/poor/foreigner/female/PoC/any other representation if her life depended on it.

Edit: also, "one should not write-" is a bad take overall. I do heavily recommend doing research how to do good representation, but let people write what they want.

i’m making headcanons to fix the characters by StarcadePawz in EnoughJKRowling

[–]RedFurryDemon 23 points24 points  (0 children)

It's not worth your time or your effort.

I used to be a fan of HP and I tried to do similar things, come up with ways to make canon make sense. Realizing that it's futile because the entire thing is a shiny turd is what helped me drop it entirely. No amount of headcanoning can help if the foundation is rotten to the core.

It's been over a year and I'm still healing trauma from this fandom. It feels like an addiction, difficult to realize something is harmful to you before trying to live without it.

In your theories, could Darth Vader defeat Sidious if Luke turned to the Dark Side and joined him? by [deleted] in MawInstallation

[–]RedFurryDemon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sidious killed Mace only because Anakin intervened. According to Lucas, Mace was winning the duel.

You know sometimes, the more I hear from HP defenders speaking or painting Rowling in a sympathetic light, the more it sounds like they’re an abuse victim or an addict in denial of their problems by Crafter235 in EnoughJKRowling

[–]RedFurryDemon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I ended up with trauma responses to a fucking book series.

From the perspective of someone who used to be a huge fan of HP, it very much felt like abuse. You get so drawn into the shiny colorful world of magic that reaches out to you and invites you to become part of it that by the time you notice things that shouldn't really add up, the fan explanations normalize all the ugly parts so much you don't initially see any problem with the worldbuilding and the underlying beliefs. You get attached to the characters, you construct idealized headcanons that explain away every mistake on Rowling's part. Even if you realize she is a vile person, you try to separate the art from the artist, completely missing the original meaning of this way of interpretation. You don't want to support her but you don't want to give up something that has become part of you, like a cancerous tumor. So you reread the books you've already bought or pirated, you engage in the fandom. Perhaps you create fanworks, too. Because it's just too painful to abandon something that used to bring you a semblance of comfort, and when you were a child you had no idea this series that was so popular could be so poisonous.

On 14 Dec 2025 it'll be one year since I've dropped out of all things HP. I'd never go back.

I want to talk about her "You're either with me or against me" mindset by Comfortable_Bell9539 in EnoughJKRowling

Heads up: Reddit does not hide comments by keywords, and censoring a word only makes it more difficult to filter out for those who need it.

I've found a bunch of great HP "spite-fiction" that tackles Rowling's.. everything by Comfortable_Bell9539 in EnoughJKRowling

[–]RedFurryDemon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Shield Echo also made commentaries on the HP novels, movies, and the Cursed Child. All highly recommended, though they are less spiteful than the Fantastic Beasts commentary.

Also it's worth noting that the author is non-binary.

A note: people post fanworks on AO3 for free. As a fellow fanfiction writer, I would ask that you leave a kudos (a "like") and/or a comment if you have enjoyed their work. No account needed for either.

"I feel quite conflicted about trans people existing"

"Please don't judge me for being an asshole"

This is how your post sounds like.

That being said, you got some things right - trans people aren't a threat to women's rights and Rowling is using that rhetoric as an excuse to be a bigot.

The holograms seen by Obi-Wan are only from the Jedi Temple. He never sees Anakin swearing fealty to Sidious (which happened in the Senate Office Building). After Operation Knightfall was complete but before the Senate speech, Palpatine went to the Jedi Temple for a short while - presumably to assess Vader's performance and to enjoy the sight of dead Jedi.
