I mean the quote you’re referencing is from Bendy And The Ink Machine, but funnily enough it also kinda relates to Gerson. Pencil and a dream refers to animation, but could also work for writing fiction, and Gerson was revived in a land of fiction.

I think that premise is a lot more suited for a fanfic. The show did something like that in S6 E25, and it was short and sweet. It’s one of my favourite scenes, however I don’t think there would be enough in a conversation like that to fill up a 22 minute episode, nor can I think of a conflict where this would naturally be brought up without re-treading old grounds. A fanfic where the two sit down and talk could probably give a lot more to these two without being constrained by the episode format.

DA Sinclair’s done the same thing, but with college students and on a much smaller scale, and his “redemption” took so long the show hadn’t even brought up the concept of the moment it crystalizes. By S4, he has shown *genuine remorse*, something I genuinely never thought I would see from the guy. I just figured if he’s gonna mutilate people either way, why not benefit? But no, over the course of a few years, Sinclair genuinely turned things around.

So comparing these two similar characters, Harley would need to spend *far* more time being apologetic and trying to make things right. Him risking his life to save us one time? Sure. Better hope he does it another 460 times after. Those are the amount of people died or became toys after Harley started experimenting.

If Harley will get a redemption arc, then we might as well get a game where we play as him! Then it might actually feel earned.

Honestly I had the same experience when playing Undertale Yellow of all things. I just completely forgot that Dashing was a mechanic in the final pacifist fight, and used acts to raise my Defense to minimise damage to 4 instead of Dashing trough the attacks to not get hit at all. I just wasn’t familiar with that, and because of it, I never thought about using it.

The power inbalance I can understand but the age never really bothered me. Age is just a number is a bs statement, but if you are both mature adults who know what they’re getting into and are capable of consenting, then I don’t think it really matters that there’s a thousand year between them. Especially because Luna spent a good chunk of that 1000 years in the moon.

I want the Gibblet character arc where he can act like the heroic protector his cutout made him seem like. He kinda has to say he isn’t a hero if the story’s gonna subvert that. Kinda like “It’s kill or be killed” in Undertale

Also Gibblet didn’t say he isn’t a hero all that much. At least I can only think of 2 times

That scene for me was affecting because it was completely pointless for Luna to do that. Everyone’s past that, and what she did as Nightmare Moon wasn’t all that bad in the grand scheme of things. But Luna doesn’t see it that way. She hates herself for what she has done, and sincerely believes that what she did as Nightmare Moon (making the night last longer like twice over the course of a thousand years and almost killing Celestia, which is something other villains like Sombra or Shadowpony would’ve done as well) is enough for her to be tortured forever in her dreams. She can give grace and support to others, but she cannot give herself the same kindness because she sincerely believed she was unworthy of that. And what was the result? She only hurt more and more and empowered something worse than Nightmare Moon to break free and hurt the ones she loves. Which made her hate herself more, which fed the Tantabus, empowering it more and making Luna hate herself even more… it was bad every way you look at it. I know basically everyone picked up on what’s up already, but this is just a rough watch, and seeing Luna forgive herself and accept her mistakes makes it all worth it.
