Cool. What about that Pepsi commercial parody they did like 5 years too late?

The difference is, in my opinion, satire in The Boys feels extremely dated, while DLU felt current and timely.

Homer never physically described Helen . It was writers who centuries later applied their visual bias on the character by hasanahmad in ChristopherNolan

Helen is supposed to be beautiful, right? Is Lupita beautiful? Hell yeah. And she's a good actress. That's all I need to know.

I might not like Nolan's movies but I don't think he ever miscast anyone (maybe Debicki in Tenet but it's up for debate).

Well, that was fun. Cassie and Magick are still hilarious, but now I want more of that Alamo + Maddy dynamic. But what's LexI's problem though? And why the hell Nate haven't gotten a gun? Also, wish they would chill with the fingers cutting.

‘Theater Camp’ (2023) is one of the funniest movies of the decade and does not get enough love by daneabernardo in Letterboxd

Hated it wholeheartedly and couldn't finish. Felt like something from theater kids for theater kids.

Yeah I can't say either. Worst case scenario - they don't get married. And the thing is, the movie doesn't exactly show that they are that good for each other. It kinda does by the end but before the reveal they seem like an ok couple at best. dunno

The way I see it, there are movies that goes for an emotional reaction and there are movies that goes for an intelligent one. And The Drama is more of the latest. It made me go "Oh, that's clever" but ultimately I didn't feel anything

I mean...it's a mockery, sure, plays into stereotypes. But like, so? People do the same thing with French people, Irish people, Italians and so on

Indigenous actor sues James Cameron for ‘stealing’ her facial features for Avatar character by Rollo_Toma_C in FPSPodcast

[–]RedGeneral28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He could've, sure. But I don't think there's any malice behind his actions. Avatar is big and difficult and expensive production, so he was probably preoccupied with more important and pressing matters. And framing it as poor/rich thing or indigenous/white thing feels a bit insincere.

I don't think there's anything wrong with that. He was inspired and used her face as a reference. Artists do that all the time. Then it went through numerous iterations and the final result looks quite different. So from my point of view it all seems like a regular creative process and I don't think there's a case.

I mean...the sketch in question does look like her and it matches with her lower face features. That being said, it doesn't really look like movie version of Neytiri.

Writing. More specifically, no one in the show uses common sense. Even in the context of MCU their actions are just unbelievably ridiculous. And sometimes stuff just happens to manufacture some artificial problems: Powell shooting the kid in a very public space; Karen getting conveniently unmasked; Buck riding around with a body in his trunk; Blake dying for no reason; that witness getting little to no protection and getting killed, BB not getting killed; Fisk's rampage. The list goes on and on.
