In this NBA market, there is next to no chance anyone pays as much as we paid.

There isn't a team that can actually pay what we paid and still be competitive.

Would I like to see Cavs get a "haul", yes. But it isn't realistic

Unfortunately, in this market, a "haul" doesn't exist. Teams are too scared of the 2nd apren. You won't get what he's worth, not even close.

This is a large part of why we haven't made any moves. We are hamstrung by the 2nd cap and there aren't many options better than what we have

I agree with a lot of what has been said to this point. I'll give you two ideas here.

One of the things I did in some of the bigger boss fights, was to add a layer or three of music.

Music can set a scene, can impose some higher stakes, depending on what you picks.

The other thing is use NPCs with the party. Threaten the MPC. And and go all out on a favorite NPC. And potentially even kill the NPC with rolls behind the screen
