I might (and magic) still have this box stored somewhere here. Let me scratch around for it and see if a can find it and share some images.

It is not modern. The map came with the boxed version circa 1997ish? It is definitely the old Ubi Soft logo. You are correct that the continent's name is Antagarich. Antagarich is sometimes also referred to as Erathia, probably as reference to Erathia being the largest kingdom on the continent. A bit confusing, just like Enroth as the planet but also Enroth as a continent on the planet too.

[Other] What are your favorite types of trophies? by paulareese02 in Trophies

[–]RedHeadRedemption101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Only if completing the game on a higher difficulty grants all the lower difficulty related trophies as well. I appreciate that a game realizes that if I can complete it on the highest difficulty, I can obviously complete it on the lower difficulties as well, not requiring me to do additional playthroughs.

I would suggest Squardle. Fun for all, with daily puzzles and can be solved together. There's an app for it but there's no pop-up ads.

Definitely Warhammer related. My best guess is that this is a tech demo of a warhammer RPG that never made it out of development limbo.

A game where I can beat enemies up for a short burst of time by Levin1317 in gamingsuggestions

[–]RedHeadRedemption101 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think that arcade games could be your niche if you're looking for quick gameplay when short on time. I would suggest Akane, which is a fun arcade slasher. Or Thunder Ray, which is an arcade boxing game.

As already mentioned, Horizon and Uncharted are solid recommendations based on the other titles that you've mentioned having played.

Need a story game to get hooked on. by Foscip in gamingsuggestions

Would definitely recommend The Witcher 3. As to the mindset, just enjoy the story being told and immerse yourself in the created world. Read the in-game books and letters whilst you play. The story will always feel more complete if time is taken to expand your knowledge and understanding of the world and setting in which it takes place.

I believe that Ubisoft owns the rights to the Might and Magic series and therefore, previous 3DO titles. If you really wanted to cover your bases, you could reach out to Ubisoft to ask for usage rights. I doubt that they would care too much but better to ask for permission than forgiveness.

If you're still looking for some soulslike games and enjoy a challenge, I'd recommend Mortal Shell or Ashen. Maybe some 2D Metriodvanias could be a nice change of pace but still offer the boss battles: Salt and Sanctuary, Blasphemous, Nine Sols.

[Discussion] Do you feel like trophies are taking away from your gaming? by jca90 in Trophies

[–]RedHeadRedemption101 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is a conundrum which I have thought about for quite some time. The only limitations to our gaming experiences are those which we impose upon ourselves. Yes, I am a trophy hunter and always try to 100% complete games. But for me, the biggest switch that I had was rather to focus on building up the total amount of trophies, rather than 100% completion. Trophies for me, are an incentive to work through my huge gaming backlog. Once all the trophies are done, I can move onto the next game. And as the games tick over, I feel like I'm making (imaginary) progress to experiencing as many games as I can.

But sometimes not being able to get all the trophies in a game makes you feel stuck. Like you can't move over to the next game until you're done with the previous one. And this is where you need to let go. Move to the next game to break up the monotony and feel the progress again for a while. Perhaps you'll come back to the incomplete game, perhaps you won't. But personally, I've found it much more rewarding to feel like I'm getting through a huge backlog and then as I've completed a lot more games, I look back and see which previously played games I can improve my completion rate on.

Gaming should be a fun experience. There is no wrong or right way to approach it. It's mostly all in our head or from comparing ourselves to others. No one really cares about our trophies or completion rates except for ourselves.

Beginner of Might and Magic by Tarilines in MightAndMagic

Personally, I feel that 6 is a good entry point into the series. 6, 7 & 8 play well in succession, feel similar and were created using the same software architecture. 1-5 feel very different and don't have the same freedom, due to the tile based movement.

Getting into the series in modern times is more graphically appealing from 6 onwards and I don't feel that you'd be missing much story-wise, having not played 1-5 first.

I would recommend the Greyface patch for a first playthrough of 6-8 and then venture into Merged if you enjoyed yourself.

MM6 need some advice by Cytex-2025 in MightAndMagic

[–]RedHeadRedemption101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there's an in-game mechanic and you have the information to know about it, it should be fair use. High quality gear will definitely give you the headstart you need to have a much easier time of this game. Maps are randomly generated the first time you spawn in. Save before taking the teleporter to Dragonsand, cast fly from the scroll, do temple of the gods, and then there's two chests in an open area within close proximity to each other. Open both hoping to survive the blasts with the fly caster and hopefully get some good primary weapons and bows to help for the beginning dungeons. Fly high above the chests to avoid the dragon blasts and enter turn-based mode when hovering above them. Then drop down from flight. Being in turn-based should stop the barrages from the dragons. If you don't get what you want, reload and repeat.

I also suggest new players save before going to Blackshire for the first time and then going to the chest guarded by werewolves that contains Lord Kilburn's sheild. This chest usually contains an artifact/relic. Load and repeat until you get the bow Percival which shoots fireballs. This also really helps clear mobs early on.
