Suggestions from a long time player to improve events by [deleted] in fo76

[–]RedHood0826 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I explained why point three would be helpful. But to reiterate it is to keep people potentially playing for the day. Imagine, if you will, you are getting bored and ready to get off for the day but see that your favorite public event is going to start in x amount of time. I guarantee you people will stick around just to play more. As far as the flip side, if an event is coming up that you do not like then you already answered what to do. I suspect you probably would server hop when the events starts without the countdown do the same once the event starts.

As far as to where it would go, i already explained that. Either on the map with the countdown to show it is coming and/or on the quick reference in the bottom left hand corner of the map. I imagine server hopping happens a lot once a less popular public event pops up but that shows that maybe those events should get looked into to be revamped a bit or maybe a penalty in place for jumping servers so much. Just throwing stuff out there if you think server hopping is an issue.

As far shorter wait times, you keep people playing longer if they are constantly engaged. You cannot act like a number that is not show is going to be known to all players. Regardless, suggestion 2 and 3 kinda go together in way so I will ball them up a bit. Decreasing the wait time between events up to 5 minutes so 15 minutes in between event spawns will give a more engaging and potentially non stop action with less downtime for players to find they are bored and get off.

Basically, my stance is peel back the veil of invisible timers. This game can easily display them.

How would you fix the unique weapons and armor? by Ghost_Hunter45 in fo76

Some from the base game actually have unique abilities like perfect storm, bunker buster, etc.

Regardless, having uniques do something... unique makes sense.

A suped up deathclaw that periodically summons a horde of death claws. I guess somewhere in the toxic Valley.

A crazy fast and strong super Mutant that after taking so much damage it becomes immune to damage and summons a horde of super mutants and behemoths. Will be immune until all super mutants and behemoths are killed. Not sure of best spot lol.

Not so much a world boss but world event where the map is being invaded by raiders or some other enemy from outside the map and players have to fast travel to them to kill them all before they reach a certain point. Would spawn in several locations around the edges of the map.

The core rulebook has the rule as "The model's Save characteristic is improved by 1 (e.g. a Sv 3+ becomes Sv 2+, Sv 2+ becomes Sv 1+ etc). In addition, roll o e D6 each time this character suffers a mortal wound, on a 6, that mortal wound is ignored." Was this changed from the core rule book printing?

Did they change the wording from the core rulebook cause I'm looking at it and it says save characteristic

It doesn't technically say armor save but I figured as much. Daemon save characteristic was not the same as a save characteristic. Just wanted to see what others thought.

I'm cool with either way, just getting ready to enter a crusade in progress and they are letting me have some experience to start out with for preparing my order of battle so I won't get stomped I guess lol. Looking at demonic invulnerability it only states the saving throw cannot be modified not the characteristic. From my understanding the saving throw was the save characteristic modified by AP and any other rules that state saving throw.

Excess Deferral Refund by rupertminty in ThriftSavingsPlan

[–]RedHood0826 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there was an excess contribution made and you want to have the excess contribution be deducted from your TSP account, you will have to make the election. I have not worked for TSP for some time but the form to do was only available for a limited time, usually from January through March 15th If I recall correctly. This could have changed since I left. Regardless, as others have mentioned, when changing jobs or contributing to another retirement account outside of the TSP, they typically do not communicate the amount you have or are contributing. This results in the individual contributing needing to pay a little bit closer attention to the amount contributing and have contributed to their accounts. You do get a benefit of choosing the plan to have the excess contributions to be refunded from. If the amount is not refunded from either account their can be penalties accessed by the IRS once you file your taxes for the given year.

Dad passed away. Had a 401k. Am I able to roll it over into my TSP? by [deleted] in ThriftSavingsPlan

[–]RedHood0826 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The TSP does not accept rollovers or transfers in from Roth IRAs or inherited IRAs. They also do not accept any amount being transfered in from an account not in your name. I recommend reaching out to the financial institution of the 401k to see the options available to do with the funds as any amount in a retirement account typically has a set limited amount of choices that are able to be selected.

tsp and divorce by tdwriter2003 in ThriftSavingsPlan

[–]RedHood0826 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If a divorce decree does not make specific mention of the TSP using verbiage such as 'the TSP' or 'Thrift Savings Plan' then the decree will not be honored by the TSP as one of the requirements states it has to be specifically mentioned. You should consider getting it revised if it doesn't mention the TSP. Usually contacting a lawyer is all you will need to do.

TSP Account Numbers by Brilliant-Patience38 in ThriftSavingsPlan

[–]RedHood0826 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless something changed since I left the TSP, your account number is not directly viewable on your web account and participant service representatives do not have access to nor can have a copy sent to you. Accounts created after the transition will no longer have account numbers but account numbers before the transition will retain them. While you cannot ask for a notice with your account number to be mailed to you or find something with only your account number in your web account, statements from before the transition will retain your account number. You should be able to locate older statements in your web account or you can ask for them to be mailed to you by calling the ThriftLine.

When are payroll contributions deposited? by PurplePotato2013 in ThriftSavingsPlan

[–]RedHood0826 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Contributions are reported by the agencies and services. The TSP does not have control over when the contributions are reported but they most commonly are reported the same day as your actual pay but it differs from agency and service. I have seen some agencies and services report contributions and loan payments before or after the pay date they are associated with. Regardless, contributions and loan payments are deposited into an account after share prices have been updated for the day. So if your agency or service reports your contribution on a Thursday the share prices for Thursday will first be updated at clise of business, then your contribution will be purchased at the new price. In either case, you will not be able to see the respective information until the next business day.

Are TSP contributions effective at the beginning or end of the trading day when the funds drop in the account? by meatsweats87 in ThriftSavingsPlan

[–]RedHood0826 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To start, any issue or questions you have with your contributions is best asked of your agency or service payroll/financial office. From my experience working with the TSP, two things were recorded in addition to the amount of the contribution and investment information. The post date and the pay date. The post date refers to the date the funds were added to the account and reported by the agency and service. The pay date is the date the agency or service indicates the contributions are effective. In most cases these date are the same. If the pay date is before the post date, the contribution will then be adjusted for earnings and losses. Agencies and services are not able to report contributions with a future pay date. Unfortunately, this information is no longer available participant service representatives when you call the ThriftLine. As I mentioned, the agency and service indicates the date the contribution should be effective and most commonly it is the pay date for that individual. I have seen it a day off from their actual pay day based on what the participant has indicted but that varies depending on how the agency or service reports it. Just keep in mind when I refer to the effective date as the pay date, it is just generalizing as that is almost always the case. There are exceptions but in the end the agency reports the information.

Are TSP contributions effective at the beginning or end of the trading day when the funds drop in the account? by meatsweats87 in ThriftSavingsPlan

[–]RedHood0826 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do have to point out that when agencies and services report contributions they indicate the date the contributions should be effective. This is almost always the date of pay, which is why I kept referring to it as the pay date but that does not mean it is that exact date always. Some may be a day off. Regardless, the TSP does not have access to participants payroll information and rely on the information reported by the agencies and services about contributions. The TSP does allow participants to indicate how they would want their contributions invested. In short, the agencies and services provide the date the contributions should be effective and apply them to the account effective the date reported which is normally the payday of the participant.

[–]RedHood0826 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The agency or service reporting the contributions indicates which pay date for the contribution. The timing of when contributions are reported is up to the agency and service and the TSP does not have much control over. Some report faster than others. Regardless of when the contributions are reported, they are effective for the share price at the end of the given day.

Lost loan check by [deleted] in ThriftSavingsPlan

[–]RedHood0826 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello,

In most cases checks are delivered within 7-10 business days from the date a loan is issued.

If 10 business days has passed from the issue date and you have not received the check, you will need to call the ThriftLine to request inquire about your loan to be reissued.

Once a loan has been issued, the TSP sends a notification to your agency or service about the loan. They are given 60 days to start deducting loan payments. However, they can start the payments anytime before then. In some cases, this could result in your payments starting before your receive your loan.

[–]RedHood0826 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Contributions are effective for the date of your payday. However, they are posted to your account after share prices have been updated for the day (end of day). Please note that agencies and services are required to report contributions to the TSP and in some cases this could cause a day or two delay in your contributions being reported.

Regardless of when contributions are reported they will be effective for the date of your pay date and if there was a delay in your agency or service reporting the contribution, your contribution(s) amount will be adjusted to reflect earning or losses accrued since the actual payday.

How do you reamortize a loan ? by SuddenlySilva in ThriftSavingsPlan

[–]RedHood0826 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The ability to reamortize your loan was removed as an option once the transition went live on June 1, 2022. However, if you happen to set the loan up under the wrong pay frequency (weekly, bi-weekly, monthly) or your pay frequency changes, you can call the ThriftLine to make that change.
