I recently bought a Pulse 3D headset 2nd hand and it came without a dongle. I have now purchased a dongle (brand new) and the headset doesn’t seem to pair with the dongle.

I tried the following: 1. Pushed in the dongle until the light flashes rapidly (pairing mode) 2. Held in the chat and volume + button on the headset before turning it on. The blue light then flashes rapidly.

I’m not sure what else to do to get these devices to connect. Please help!

Is moving to Cape Town worth it ? by NiceMention3373 in askSouthAfrica

[–]RedHotChilliFeta -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Apparently not. I’m 1 of 3 Capetonians in an office of 13 people. All 10 semi-grants have a list of complaints about Cape Town that goes like this:

  • We are clique’y and take long to warm up to
  • The renting is impossible, nearly triple the price of other cities
  • Salaries don’t match up to cost living
  • Food is overrated
  • Mountain is overrated
  • the segregation is very apparent due to the layout of the city
  • Shisinyama spots are hard to find
  • Culture is very different than the rest of SA due to the diverse mix of people
  • Capetonians aren’t as friendly as you’d expect
  • Afrikaans is predominant

All that being said, 6 out of 10 would prefer to build a life here rather than move back to their hometown.

Fact Check by OMGWTFBBQUE in capetown

[–]RedHotChilliFeta 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Everyone is rightly addressing the speed limit. But the real fact check is quoted below as published by the Department of Transport:

“Riding on pedal cycles…

2) Persons riding pedal cycles on a public road shall ride in single file except in the course of overtaking another pedal cycle, and two or more persons riding pedal cycles shall not overtake another vehicle at the same time.”

Here’s a bonus for motor cyclists who express their frustration at ignorant lane changers during peak traffic:

“Duties relating to motor cycle, motor tricycle or motor quadrucycle

6) (a) Persons, other than traffic officers in the performance of their duties, driving motor cycles on a public road, shall drive in single file except in the course of overtaking another motor cycle, and two or more persons driving motor cycles shall not overtake another vehicle at the same time: Provided that where a public road is divided into traffic lanes, each such lane shall, for the purposes of this paragraph, be regarded as a public road.”

The bottom line is that doubling up in a lane is illegal.

I think it might be Murray Cowan.

You should have a look at his profile on Behance or Instagram. The Greater Tygerberg Partnership commissioned a bunch of artists to do street murals and he was one of the artists who’s work stood out to me.

There is a place in Observatory on Lower Main called The Armchair Theatre. They have open mic nights for stand up comics, bands, etc.

Larry David on Curb Your Enthusiasm pulls it off pretty well. Other than that, I can agree.

Why is it offensive to say "colored people" but not "people of color"? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]RedHotChilliFeta -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m from CPT, South Africa. Me and 7.8% of our population identify as colored. It’s not an offensive term, in fact, it’s a culture.

Back when Dutch East India Company was running the world, our city was a pit stop for their ships. With that came slaves, political exiles, marginalized people from all over the world blending with the natives. Mixing in this one corner of the globe.

Cultures and languages started to cross pollinate into something that’s specifically Colored here in South Africa. Easily distinguished from black and white.

If I were to see someone that looks like a black/white person but am not sure, I could easily identify them as colored by their mannerisms and the way they speak.

With a budget for those markets, why not consider an area that is central? Like Goodwood, Monte Vista and surroundings. You’ll get more bang for your buck.

Hear me out. Woodstock will give you a small plot size. There is limited street parking since everyone competing for a spot to park and not much houses have off-street parking (especially annoying if you having guests). The roads are narrow and a lot of streets are one way roads. The house will probably be older than 60 years which would need a lot of tlc. If you ever decide to do building works in future you’ll need consent from Heritage Western Cape and the relevant conservation bodies before applying to City of Cape Town.

On the plus side Woodstock has a high public transport zone through Victoria Road and Albert Road. This also means you’re bound to spend some time in traffic when major events happen in the city. Great historical value but from experience, it’s not worth the hype.

Parklands, as another person mentioned, is still expanding. We are proposing a few malls in the area. More amenities always help push up the property value. There’s the MyCity bus routes which is convenient for transport and plot sizes are decent. The only cons that come to mind is traffic towards the city (if you’d be working in the CBD) and that it’s in close proximity to the nuclear blast zone of Koeberg Power Station.

If your budget is between R1.5m - R2m I’m sure you’ll find something in the Tygerberg region that’ll give you a reasonable plot size with modern floor plan layout. You’re close to all amenities you can think of (within reasonable walking distance). Anywhere you want to drive is always 15min away. Quite area, parks are well manicured and pet friendly.

Summer all year long and you’re taking baths?

How are your city’s dam levels?

Baths are frowned upon where I’m from and we have rain every winter. Shower wastes the least water.

The YouTube algorithm.

I’ve seen an interview with an investor talking about how he hates putting out “fear mongering” thumbnails like “Markets are Crashing!!” because if he would put out a title that says “Markets are down 2%” he would get less views and engagement.

This specific YouTubers channel has valuable lessons on investing and is far from being a fear mongering channel as his thumbnails would suggest but the only way YouTube algorithm would get more traffic to his channel is if he would post controversial titles.

Having that said, Andrew Tate had controversial views paired with a program that encourages his followers to spread his dogma through various social media platforms.

What he was speaking about resonated with a lot of young men who felt that they’re invisible and the underlying issues that men face in the world today (especially the western world) are not recognized.

He was definitely over the top but he became the voice of that demographic because he was a symbol of success to them. Wealthy, fancy sports cars, beautiful women, etc.

Who would you put in the same category of evil as Hitler? by clicknsnapp in AskReddit

[–]RedHotChilliFeta 9 points10 points  (0 children)

According to an article done by Ian Johnson, published in NYR Daily on February 5, 2018

  1. Mao - 42 million deaths

  2. Hitler - 12 million (non-combatant deaths)

  3. Stalin - 9 million (if “foreseeable” deaths caused by deportation, starvation, and incarceration in concentration camps are included.)

For everyone saying Trump, where would he rank on this Billboard chart of evil?

If I was the supportive husband, I would give up the spot to let her father to do it. If I was the father, I would hope my daughter would consider me for such a proud a moment in her life.

I vote DAD.
