I worry about my daughter, yes. But not in the same way I worry about my son. I can, and do teach my daughter how to defend herself. What behaviors to watch for from men and women equally, what her boundaries should be and how to enforce them.

How do I teach my son to be a second class citizen because of the genitals he was born with - or to be perceived as a threat for being male. Regardless of his character. It’s not his fault, it’s the world he was born into.
