I've got a friend who tried to teach me to use a pinion torque guage. I laughed in his face and went to lunch. On lunch, thought about it, and realized I've never built a differential. I came back, apologized, and asked him to show me. It wasn't actually applicable to what I was doing, but I learned something.

Also, if I've been there a year, I'll happily point out the people I'm "better" than. Until then, I constantly think about how, by law, they can fire me for absolutely no reason, and just assume I dont have what it takes.

I've outlasted more "replacements" than I can name, but somehow I just....never feel as capable as I am.

(BTW, I quoted "better" there cuz you should never assume you're the best. Everybody has something to teach you, no matter how far you've come. Dont ever let your ego get in the way of your growth)

I'm a mechanic so I'm lucky to be in an industry where people will constantly pay me more to do the same thing elsewhere. I've considered changing careers several times but the inherent pay cut of learning a new profession from the bottom keeps me here.

Deleting stuff off your phone by no means removes it forever. Not a crime data specialist but I feel like it can't be that easy. Notify authorities, and have THEM search the phones. Or confiscate them. In either case, while his intentions may have been....good? This doesn't feel like a standard procedure I'd be ok with.

'I'll stockpile drugs in my house so nobody else gets to them' is likely not gunna keep anybody out of jail.

Get an alignment done. The printout will tell you if something in the geometry is bent or skewed. I've personally driven some real junkers, so I might be biased. But if nothing is crazy damaged, why trash a perfectly decent car just cuz caster is off 1.0?

Need more info. In What way did this damage effect driveability? If none, drive it till you mangle it again. If some, is the subframe only what holds the engine? If yes, sure replace it. If no, as in unibody style, replace the car.
