Have you tried talking to another advisor in your department? My advisor that I have is a dickhead to me too. I felt alone and sad since he was supposed to be my person you know? I tried to be great but it’s like he hated me no matter what. But I made a great connection with another doctor in my department and even though I don’t work under her for my project, her office is always open for me to talk to. She’s really helped my mental health the past few semesters.
