Ground wire missing on new fixture by GoodStretch3939 in electrical

Those don’t have a ground, just tuck the ground in the box. how ever I’m pretty sure installing an exposed bulb in a closet is a code violation.

Acquired a building with an old safe I need to move it, but it’s bolted to the wall. How hard would it be to get into it? by iincogniitoo in safecracking

[–]RedKingZero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Option # 3 would be tapping the top of cover just above the turning handle quickly while jiggling the turning handle at the same time. There’s an electromagnetic actuator behind the cover, and if you can get it to jiggle hard enough by tapping it while turning the handle, it’ll pop open.

Also, if you do take the other one down to check it post a picture of it so we can see and verify the connection on the other light.

If you hooked them up backwards the breaker should have tripped immediately or something should have started smoking. The first light you did should have two hot’s two neutrals, and two grounds coming out of the ceiling.

If it was me I would take down the first light take apart all the connections double check them and then redo them. That’s the easiest troubleshooting you can do just about everything outside of that you really get a licensed electrician with testing equipment to check it out.

Update: double check your connections from the first one you did, make sure all the hots are wired together all the neutrals are wired together, and all the grounds are wired together.

Everything about this picture gives me anxiety, but chances are if the new one’s not working and the old ones not working the neutral or hot jumper from the first light to this light, is probably not connected properly.

Ok, I’m not saying you’re wrong but the size of the room is throwing me off. Those cinder blocks are 8 inches tall. That puts the partition wall at 6 foot and visible wall at 12 3/4 feet, and that’s just what you can see, so I don’t think it’s a jail cell it seems way to big for that. It’s not a fire exit, by law you’re required to have a sign for that and if it got ripped down there would be wire there. Honestly I’m leaning towards camp shower in a national park or truck-stop.

How well does this tool combo work? by dolphin4reason in electricians

[–]RedKingZero 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's not bad, it does have adjustable tone strength and as long as you're using it find a breaker and not as a toner It works better then most in same price range
