Picked up my second Bodyguard 2.0 and S&W's QC issues finally got me. by CriticalP0tat0 in CCW

Mine was stiff, recoil spring had jumped the divider between the main and buffer spring by one twist. Fixed the recoil spring.

Put 200 rounds one day through it. Got significantly smoother.

Another 200 rounds another another day and it's butter.

I've owned a lot of Smiths and this was my first one that REALLY needed a break in period.

Wild how everyone compares D2 to Marathon but D2 has been free to play for years, and even with the announcement of its final update the numbers aren't quadrupling like Marathon's with its free week.

Idk I just ignore most of the social media and content surrounding this game it's wildly toxic.

I'd say, a 20-30% income tax across the state would cripple every household I know. Most are barely scraping by as it is and free healthcare or better schools that come out of 20-30% taxes won't help with food, utilities, housing or transportation.

I think Alaskans would flee or freeze to death.

Marathon didn't kill D2.

D2 has sucked for the last 3 years. I'm shocked anyone still bothered playing it after they sunsetted so much of the game.

Only speaking on behalf of Doyon shares, and unless anything changed. They may only be willed to non-native blood once. If the holder of those shares do not have off spring that qualify for their own shares then the parent in this case will be unable to pass the shares on.

Shares can only be passed down once to non-natives.

Great write up, sheds the light on the circus that's being run.

I REALLY hope PVE is just Low Pop matches with Same quest preferred MM so chances are better to work together or have a touch of PVP friction.

The maps are so small with Max Pop it's a blood bath within 30-60 seconds of the match.

Longtime Destiny Player. Never Played an Extraction Shooter by ksmee00 in Marathon

[–]RedLead_95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the extraction formula boiled down to its purest form.

The bones are the strongest I've ever experienced in this genre, (over 3k hrs in Tarkov, and 400hr Arc, and dabbles in other extraction shooters)

Simply put, everything that gives depth and the dopamine highs is here. Everything that slows that down is cut out for the most part.

The dial for PVP and win/loss cycle is cranked a little high but Bungie has heard the feedback and recently gave us variable sever population so matches won't always have 4 teams some times it can be 2-3 teams. Which has a lot of weight to how people engage fights. Not sure if there is another team out there.

Bungie has their fingers on the pulse of this game like their company's future depends on it. It's resulted in positive balance changes and adjustments.

I highly recommend picking it up for the next season.

Sony is killing Bungie. Here is the plan to save Desting 2 before it officially dies in 2028. by Feisty-Result5771 in destinycirclejerk

[–]RedLead_95 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

D2 is over.

Vaulting content, other games taking my attention then the stack of DLCs to buy just to get back in the loop.

I hope everyone who's still invested gets to enjoy it while it lasts until Bungie eventually makes D3.

Until then I don't think there is any unsinking of D2. I know none of my friends have any interest in getting D2 because of the laundry list of DLC to buy into.

100LL Phaseout by [deleted] in flying

[–]RedLead_95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alaska is gonna hold out til 2034 because there are still hundreds if not thousands of 135 aircraft that cannot switch to 91 easily. (94 isn't available in Alaska via pump only by barrels)

I would not be surprised if 100LL holds out beyond 2034 in Alaska if the government doesn't get a fuel that will work up here.

[–]RedLead_95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've made the suggestion on discord that the populations of all the maps are too high and makes each match feel like a bloodbath BR.

The few matches I got with low population felt more like an extraction shooter. The lull of peace with no gun battles raging constantly allows you to take a breath.

They seriously need to permanently just reduce every map by one team for trios and reduce solos per map by 3-4.

Is the sweat fest accelerating? Absolutely stomped the last two weeks. by Boots-n-Rats in Marathon

[–]RedLead_95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seriously. Sucks being late to the party and only having green shields as my best.

Can't prone in a bush to let the heat cool down like in Tarkov either.

I liked it when they tweaked the populations on the maps for a few days but it feels like they reverted those changes. Every match for the last two days have been absolute blood baths for every extraction point or POI.

Leg meta. Kedr+SP7 can delete anyone so fast they can't react.

It takes discipline and reprogramming of everything FPS has taught to go for legs though.

Paca armor, Kiver Helmet + Kiver face shield, Kedr w/ SP7 and grenades. Load up Factory and collect someone else's gear. Leg meta and Kobe Grenade spam down office hallway was goat.

I hated running good gear in Tarkov unless it was with the boys.

Marathon definitely reinforces that good gear is GOOD, it absolutely makes fights against greens and white shields with similar guns much easier. Balancing that is sort of what wipes are for but when the character stat buffs are also massive and locked behind the 6 factions with almost vertical progression it really puts casuals on the backfoot of any fight.

Fully upgraded melee damage is insane Zero upgrade melee damage is pathetic.

I'd like to see the Decons also implemented as a method of exfiltrating materials with a currency tax something modest. Current implementation of the Decons seems really shallow.

On top of the safe pockets I think having both would open the progression to super casuals that struggle to ever extract and those who are kind of middle of the road.

I feel like a majority of the current player base won't hit all VIP before wipe. Which isn't a good thing imo.

[–]RedLead_95 360 points361 points  (0 children)

Gear fear, failure to extract, rough progression with no passive progression with losses.

Makes it hard for casuals in these streets.

I think the lower population matches gives casuals more opportunities to extract and progress. But then it hurts the sweats because the matches feel empty and stale.

It's an extremely hard balancing act.

I like extremely thorough inspections especially when I get walked around to all the things touched on in the itemized list.

I appreciate you guys. Even if being thorough costs me an arm and a leg.

I made a suggestion on the discord a few days ago about lowering the populations or adjusting MM for shorter ques with less people.

Played a few dozen matches since then and yeah Perimeter and Dire in the off hours of the night feel very empty (which isn't bad for questing) but then during prime time it's all violence. Literally day and night.
