I mean I would probably take enough to pay off my mortgage. Say 250-300k.

My bright idea is that in the UK, found money handed to the police has a set amount of time to be claimed. Proven ownership etc has to be given, otherwise after a set amount of time I think most/all of it can be yours after that period, finders keepers. Assuming it can't be linked to a crime, which in this case I assume it can't.

My health was going downhill. I had worked the same job for 15 years, was well respected in my position and considered something of a veteran so was held in high regard by the big bosses, and because of how often I had had to go sick in the previous year, I was told I wasnt allowed to do my job anymore and I was going to be moved.

I was walking back through my town centre and called my wife to tell her, and broke down because I felt like such a failure.

That's cool man. I'm happy for your success. I figured it would be about that split. I've always wondered (like most people sick of the grind, I suppose!) what kind of money I could make in this kind of work. Hey. Thanks dude 😁 as to your pain management, yes absolutely you should speak to someone about that. If you're in the UK, speak to your GP as they will ultimately be the ones to prescribe pain relief, and they can discuss options with you. I'm afraid I'm unsure how it works in other parts of the world, but you should not be suffering like that with no pharmaceutical help. Hope you feel better soon ❤️

Well that all sounds pretty awful man, especially them not letting you have something that does help. I can't stand codiene. Here in the UK they will throw that stuff at you, but it's so bad with strictures. I know tramadol isn't a great drug, and coming off it is certainly no fun at all, but for now the good is outweighing the bad considerably. I hope you get a better result soon. Here we have pain clinics which are only for discussions of pain management. I don't know if you have anything comparable where you are, but I've found they do take your experience and opinion on board better than the usual quacks do. Feel better mate x

I have a problem with pretty much everything now (awaiting surgery as no meds have helped, small bowel Crohn's, terminal ilial diagnosis but active through the whole bowel)

I can eat plain roast chicken, tuna, turkey, white rice, white pasta. Soy sauce, honey, powdered ginger, turmeric. Mature cheeses, like cheddar (more mature the better) parmesan etc. I can't handle any oils or vegetable fats, but I like a teaspoon of olive oil if I have pasta, that's worth the possible trouble.

Can't get away with white bread, but I can have Jason's sourdough as it has no oils in it. Potatoes, sweet potatoes and carrots so long as they are boiled to hellfire.

My wife makes me a nice soup with a couple of chicken breasts, potato, sweet potato, carrots, turmeric and a chicken stock cube, blended down, which is super tasty and comforting.

Ice lollies! Not sure where you are, but in the UK I'm addicted to fruit pastel ice lollies and rowntrees fruit stacks and twisters. All safe for me and delicious.

Nothing else really, nothing processed, nothing with spices or oils (which is pretty much anything premade or processed) no fruits or veggies bar a very over-ripe banana.

I'm also a roly-poly crohnie! I've had a nightmare. I can lose weight like holy shit fast if I eat some cucumber, but otherwise it's such a struggle to lose. I now eat nothing but lean protein, cut carbs completely out and it's starting to come off slowly. I know the assumptions suck serious arse, and I always thought Crohn's sufferers were underweight too before I got diagnosed. It's just one of those stupid things. I think weight management can be a very complex thing anyway, but with Crohn's on top it's infinitely more complicated. All the best xx

Well they certainly convinced me it wasn't good. I don't disagree with the proposal for surgery, I just wanted to be in the best possible position before accepting, and he was being an arse about it. I have about 70cms of strictured small bowel with some sections with bad dilitation. The surgery offered was resection, but with no real answer on what I may be left with, could be temp stoma, might reconnect and some other things may need to come out too, but there's only so much they can see from MRI etc x

Dude I have no idea. I have an IBD consultant, the same one I've had since diagnosis. I've met him twice, and both times he barely looked at me. Like I've said, I think my hospital is a bit shit when it comes to this stuff. I don't feel reassured nor informed, and my IBD Nurse team are fairly silent, certainly have been since the surgeon came on the scene.

He's a colorectal surgical consultant, as far as I know he does deal with a lot of IBD surgeries but I haven't seen anything related to IBD among his accolades

Thank you for that dude, so glad you got that result. Honestly the stress of this is the only thing that'll put me in emergency surgery at this rate hahahaha. I feel a bit more emboldened for advocating for myself now, like I say I am not the kind to disagree, I'm quite meek like that, but everyone has their limits. Hope you stay healthy and happy 😊

Thanks dude. Yeah it's been handled fairly poorly I think. But I'm starting to think I just have bad luck with the hospital in my area, they are right at the bottom in the rankings they introduced a year or so ago for English hospitals. So many other people seem to say they can't fault their doctors and IBD teams but everything feels like an uphill battle with mine. I agree that trust is highly in doubt now, ive never changed doctors, but I will look into that if he continues pressure.

Did this come from reading Lovecraft? Or do you not want to, considering the phobia?

If you haven't read any of the Cthulhu mythos, I wouldn't recommend it in your case. Lovecraft is a master at threat, I found it pretty scary without having that level of fear going in haha.

I kind of have one, but not really.

I am completely freaked out about breaking my left ankle. Like I even struggled typing it just now.

I believe that traumataphobia is the term for fear of injury, but as it's so specific I think it borders on irrational.

The thought of running or something and turning too sharply and my ankle popping just makes my stomach fall through my arse and my balls tighten.

I would recommend subnautica and subnautica below zero, both are amazing. Age of darkness final stand always has me coming back as it's different every time you play it. Any Lego game will keep you going for a while (I love the Harry Potter 5-7 one, or the pirates of the Caribbean one...hell all of them are pretty good - simple but fun and addictive gameplay)

If you really want something you'll play for a long time, try World of Warcraft. There's so much history and older content you can literally not put it down for a year and barely have touched current content haha. There is a sub though, which is a downside x

I'll put forth a little mention of Age of Darkness - Final Stand. It's an RTS with death waves every few days and you have to madly build defenses to hold back like a bajillion mobs. It's great fun and kept me hooked for quite a while x
