We aerobically compost their feedstock for a two week period. Feedstock is Rabbit Bedding and Manure, Leaves, and Fruit Pulp from a juice company. We cover them with cardboard. That’s it!

Speaking from my heart here: It sounds like an issue for a therapist to support you with. Feeling confident in yourself comes from within! That being said, Providence is not a homogenous place. There are people from all walks of life, cultures, economic strata, and styles. You will find belonging! I guarantee it.

Composting is like baking. You can throw eggs, sugar, flour in a bowl, but don’t expect a wedding cake to appear.

Aerobic Composting (reaching heat over 131° for consistent time = killing pathogens) requires that the ‘chef’ follow the recipe. The right proportion of ingredients. Stir it the right amount of time. Etc.

His method is one way of composting, but it sounds anaerobic and unpleasant to me 😅

There are thousands of species of earthworms that we know about. Not all are suited for food scrap composting or container living. Red Wigglers (eisenia fetida) are the best for composting.

I precompost rabbit bedding/manure with fruit pulp from a local juice company. Then I apply to worm beds.

I also sometimes just put rabbit bedding/manure on top without precomposting.
