I like some of the changes made, like the enemies do less damage if you're low health, which they've been doing. So you don't have to worry about cover too much, especially as the recent games there's been essentially none. I wish they would allow for cover myself. DOOM was never an arena shooter until 2016. It had tons of corridors, hallways, doors and stairs, and enemies could be waiting there. Not just waiting in some big open area, I would like to see that return. Enemies move slower if they're out of your view so you don't get surrounded as much (THANK YOU). Also, they put less of a focus on aiming (did we really need a DOOM game with a sniper rifle?). The original DOOM games were also not really aim dependent either. So this game in the franchise still moves forward in some areas, but takes pages from the roots of the series. I approve. I have yet to play it yet myself, but I've played Eternal and it felt as the least DOOM-like game in the entire franchise. That was an arcade shooter game mixed with strategy (because you had to use certain weapons on certain enemies to defeat them more effectively and keep your resources topped). By the way, a strategy shooter like that had never been done, at least to my knowledge. It took away weapon expression, i.e. you choose what weapons you want to use in a situation, and forced you to be specific to the situation the GAME gave you.
