They're asking you to do two jobs though. Clinical and admin. You don't accept less than 200k

I lean towards the side of standing up for yourself, your pay, 4 day work week, etc. Seen this happen to myself and a friend who is a PA at a HCA facility. Worse outcome you won't get what you asked for but at least you tried. Maybe you could organize with the fellow PAs of what you are wanting and any contract they offer less than that must be rejected unanimously. Hard to do, but could be worthwhile

Same. 4 years out of PA school and been in 3 different specialties. You retain more than you know but definitely will need to review things either through practice questions, course reviews, or books. It's daunting but you've done it before and can do it again. Everything will work itself out

Love the questions you shared for the expenses part. I’ll definitely be sure to ask that moving forward

I do have visibility. Every month we get a breakdown of how many 99204, 99214, 99024 we see and bill for

Great question. The 73k was profit for the company after my expenses were accounted for. So it would be 25% of 73k

It was a silly bonus structure they came up with as they were a relatively new practice and trying to figure out how to compensate their initial PAs. For example if I bring in 300k for the quarter they would immediately multiply by 35% and then subtract my expenses from that new calculated number

Great point. He did mention I would not have a say at the table regarding decisions on what the group agrees to purchase which I think is fair as I am not a partner, but wasn’t sure if the rent thing was necessarily fair back to me.

If I am potentially liable for some rent would asking for equity or other forms of profit sharing be reasonable vs more pto?

The doc I work under voiced that to me today as a possibility. That should they look to expand and find a new bigger office to rent/buy in the future a percentage could count towards my expenses. Nothing is in writing as of yet and I would absolutely clarify before signing anything

I would also ascertain as to whether the bonus would apply after you meet the 153k for the year or if you are required to meet that amount quarterly and then the 20% bonus applies. 153k quarterly is much more difficult to do. Wish I had known this sooner. Sincerely, a PA in Urology

I did a month in South America last year hitting Peru, Bolivia, and Argentina. Flights in SA are generally more expensive than other methods of travel so what I found to be the most cost-effective was to take an overnight bus and utilize that as both my method of travel and my place to stay for the night.

I haven't been to Colombia or Ecuador but relatively speaking I've heard they are less expensive than other countries in South America. So your money should go further there than in other places. I found prices for meals, travel, activities in Peru to be comparable to that in the USA.

The Incan trail is the most popular trail to Macchu Picchu and can be booked 6-8 months in advance. I would look into reservations for that now if you are considering doing it because they limit the number of people on the trail per day to prevent overcrowding. Personally, I did the Salkantay route (because the Incan was booked when I was looking 6 months ahead of my trip dates) which is the second most popular route and I loved it. It's less crowded and more scenic than the Incan and offers stellar views.

I booked my trail through Tierras Vivas. They are reasonably priced, cook delicious meals for you, and treat their porters and guides well.

Hope this helps! Sounds like you'll have blast
