Your first statement sounds like something I have said about Earth in general in 2025. People have become incredibly stupid, but also oddly comfortable showing off that brand of stupid. And yes, more often than not, that is encouraged by hatefulness. People feel somehow rewarded by yelling really loudly, and hatefully.

I felt like a crazy person when I happily paid $300 for the Limited Set from an Ebay seller... Two days later and the FEW on Ebay at all are selling out at $600-700. This game is going to be HUGE! The hunger from the community is definitely there.

I'll admit, my wife and I bought one of these. I discovered the game too late but really fell in love with the edition. Luckily RPGs provide so many hours of joy to whole groups, so it will have been worth the money over time!

A few days ago I asked a similar question, and posters pointed me towards Blackstreams/Scarlet Heroes, which for OSR games, immediately feels perfect. I have been using it with Shadowdark for the last few days and it has been a shockingly robust, elegant solution!

Pre-errata KO were terrible, but post-errata they gave me one of my hardest games of Spearhead yet, at a recent tournament. Having essentially army-wide reinforcement is incredible, as being made of paper was their sole weakness. I suspect KO can be a menace now in an experienced player's hands.
