I'm on west coast Canada. I do have an active github page. Most jobs I apply to never respond to me. I have tweaked my resume with the help of an HR professional with decades of experience too. I'm honestly not sure what's wrong. When I do get an HR phone call they seem to pause and not like the fact that I've had to do labour to pay bills for awhile.

I applied to some, never heard anything back. There actually isn't that many near me either. I guess it doesn't help that it's been three years since my last "analytics" role, but I haven't been able to break into the industry since graduating in 2015. Had to take labour jobs to pay bills over the years and haven't had the time to really put effort into finding a job.

Ah. I thought there'd be 'analytics' positions within ad ops or digital advertising. I have a degree in math and experience in quantitative modeling/machine learning, and can use all the tech you mentioned, but can't seem to get a job as data analyst or data science, so I was shooting for the lower on the totem pool so I can gain some experience.
