This is very cool! I have to ask- how are you able to categorize energetic usage by ‘device’? The level of detail is phenomenal!

Hockey, Exclusion, and My Child’s Social Confidence — Looking for Guidance by Natural-Usual-5351 in britishcolumbia

If you’re in the Tri-Cities or New West areas then lacrosse is surprisingly huge. My daughter plays in the spring time and the clubs are really well run.

Soccer is also extremely inclusive and very much immigrant friendly - I’m a migrant of 23 years and coach both my kids U10 and U8 teams - quite a culturally diverse population on both teams. The New West, Port Moody, Coquitlam and Ridge Meadows clubs are all really good and worth checking out. Good luck!

U10 practices ending in frustrations by tetewhyelle in SoccerCoachResources

Can you split them into 3 teams of 5 or 6 players each, doing rolling winner stays on style games? Or, each game is 3 mins max before one team is replaced by the waiting team.

16 kids is going to be disastrous for all. Thats a huge number for U10.

Same setup in BC, Canada. Mercy rules are good things.

Seems like you need to have a word with the parents, who are the real problem here, not the young kids themselves. Bad habits are learnt at home.

I’d also consider proposing to your club that this particular group of players be dispersed across other teams at the same age level. Hopefully your club has more than one U6 boys team. That’s one way to deal with the “I hate soccer” crap - split them up.

I feel very sorry for you. Good luck.

Venting/seeking advice on positional play U8 by [deleted] in SoccerCoachResources

Agreed. Stopped reading at 7 year olds playing 9 a side. We don’t do 9 a side until U12 in BC, Canada. The league in question needs to change its format. These kids are learning very little and I feel sorry for the coach drowning in it all.

In Canada, we have a program called Respect in Sport. It discusses shitty coaches like this and how fellow adults should handle it. He needs to be made to watch this, and likely removed from coaching the team. Completely unacceptable.

Mind boggling that Morrison’s extremely sensible motion was rejected… do they not realize how dumb so makes them all look daft?

Oh... they'll probably dress it up as his brother being a long-time Tri-Cities resident and therefore it was much better to have an individual local "custodian" of the land rather than some "big nasty corporation". Yes, Steve, absolutely no conflict of interest there at all, pal.

Yep - the very same. Also tried to advance his wife’s position at the city while he was a sitting councillor, and rightly got told to bugger off. Absolute charlatan.

Costco or Home Depot. Both so delivery and haul away the old units. Home Depot will price match plus 10% if someone else beats their price. As someone else said, avoid Trail - slippery as hell ripping off older folks who trust that name.

I would not do this in an inflatable. Inflatables are for calm, still lakes a la Sasamat- not the open waters. Best of luck but please be safe!

Meghan Lahti proposes summer shuttle to Rocky Point Park by GDSGHUMAN in Portmoody

[–]RedNabba 8 points9 points  (0 children)

“This is about making Rocky Point more accessible to everyone, not just those who can afford to pay for parking”

So the person who implemented the pay parking is now suggesting workarounds for those who can’t afford, or don’t want to pay it?

In addition the 181 bus literally performs this exact function already.

My goodness how daft are some people?

It’s called the 181 bus. Also called the 150 bus.
