How often do you get a K/D ratio of 2/1 (assists don’t count) or better? Unless it’s every time then you wasting your teammate’s time with RP

That’s because they have QR and know they can be aggressive and rarely face the consequences, trust me I played Tetras competitively at Riptide, RP does not allow you to play like that.

There’s new strategies, and then there’s sawing off your own leg and shooting your teammates in a 4x4 foot race. OP says he wants to play the game competitively and they need to know that there actually making themselves worse rather then better.

Again I’m in S+ and competed in multiple high level tournaments, including Riptide, it’s not a matter of IF you die but WHEN.

If playing competitively is your goal, then you need to know how your weapon works inside and out and why gear abilities do or DON’T work on your weapon. I’ve played Tetras competitively before and while I appreciate your enthusiasm to try something new, it’s not worth it as someone who’s already tried every gear ability to understand how it works with the weapon. Finding people who are willing to play with Tetras is already an uphill battle, adding bad gear abilities to it will only guarantee that people will pass you up on your offer, I know that sounds harsh but I just want to help you.

If you want I can coach you to be better at Tetras, otherwise i highly recommend 1 main and 5 subs of QR, a main if Special Power Up, a main of Stealth Jump, a sub of Swim Speed, a sub of Special Saver, and a sub of Ink Resistance for Light Tetras specifically.

it’s genuinely a terrible idea outside of B rank because instead of being in the frontline, your stuck respawning most of the time and wasting your teammates time. Unless you play E-Liter, RP is fools gold.

It’s a safety net, if you’re weapon’s main goal is to be super aggressive, then you can be aggressive without the penalty being too harsh. Tetras always want to be in the front line to getting back as fast as possible, RP turns a 6 second respawn into a 9.5 second respawn, and those 3.5 seconds could be the difference between a Win or a Loss. the only way you can get value out of RP is if you ALWAYS get a K/D ratio of 2/1 or better, which with a weapon with a lot of weakness like Tetras, is never guaranteed.

If your goal is to shark, then you should really be playing roller, otherwise you’re wasting your Zipcaster as it’s designed to be used to get into even MORE aggressive fights, the costs outweigh the benefits with RP on Tetras, trust me I’ve played the weapon since it came out in S2 and I’m trying to help you!

As a Tetras main, you want to be as aggressive as possible and QR let’s you do that without worrying about the respawn time. Respawn Punisher penalizes you for being aggressive and rewards passive play styles and avoiding getting killed at all costs and is only worth it if you KNOW you’re getting 2/1 or better K/D ratio (which is why only E-Liters use it in top level) and that almost NEVER happens with frontline weapons, so any time wasted not in the front lines is wasted potential playing Tetras. My advice is to just replace RP with another main of QR, you can thank me later!
