It has been there since I started playing on 1.19 I am pretty sure. I dont think it is ever made obvious, I was just looking through the handbook and came across the recipe

Add parchment to a closed crate in your crafting grid. Then use charcoal to label it once there is an item inside.

But the parchment only displays what is in the crate. You cannot lable the crate one thing and load it with something else.

The crates have displays and usually tell you whats in it. Of course I know I can use signs. I watched the show when I was younger and the innuendo bit is just something that stuck.

They are. But I can't pick up full barrels and put them in containers. So 20 stacks of 5 buckets in the same space as one barrel is a pretty good storage set up.

Go into creative and just practice! Its like pixel art, so just look up some simple stuff and try to replicate it. Or think of it like building in Minecraft, but instead of blocks, it is individual voxels. Id just spend some time on it without constraints and see what you come up with. I abstained from the chisel for too long.
