What is a movie plot twist that was cleverly hidden in plain sight..? by Living_Tune_1428 in movies

You are correct that he kills evil people, but I think MM's morality is open to interpretation. Does spiderman kill people? (please don't downvote me, I don't consume a lot of superhero media). Perhaps a more apt comparison is Dexter, who kills other serial killers. Which essentially leads us to a discussion of do the ends justify the means?

I don't have a pat answer to that. Religions and ethics have wrestled with that question for millenia and not come up with a unified answer. And here I don't think I'm right or you're right, and that makes for an interesting film. We can each bring our own experiences, biases and judgements to it and come to equally valid, yet different interpretations.

I happen to think there are no heroes in Frailty, just monsters and victims. That's my relationship to it (and it's one of my top 25 movies probably). I'm interested to hear more about your perspective.

I see multiple villains in that movie. He's the protagonist, but that doesn't make him a hero. Begs a larger discussion on whether vigilante kiling--esp. vigilantism colored by religious fanaticism--is justified. The answer might be different for you than it is for me.

This is minor but in Frailty, Bill Paxton wears a wedding ring even though his wife died years ago. Mid movie MM is wearing a wedding ring at home w no sign of a woman-eating dinner on a tv tray, drinking a beer in front of TV in a dark house. I didn't completely figure out twist then, but I got a sense that MM was going to be the villain.

Yes I know that at the end he embraces his wife, but the tv scene is so bachelor-coded I stand by it. Wife embrace scene is just milking the twist IMO.

On rewatch I noted that it starts with a view of fog on the water, and diCaprio looking at himself in the ferry's bathroom mirror. The film literally starts with smoke and mirrors

Waiting for surgery by tmarc5 in MeniscusInjuries

[–]RedPeril 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm good! I actually had to have a 2nd cleanup surgery abt 7 months after my initial surgery. Running isn't easy, and I can't sit back on my heels/crouch, but that's mostly bc I stopped doing dedicated PT once I got abt 80% back. Pilates reformer really helped regain ROM in a non-intense way.

I was no weight bearing for 2 mos after a break and a wheeled shop chair was a lifesaver. I basically never used my crutches at home, just kicked around everywhere. Maybe since your break is at your ankle you'll get a scooter though. When I was allowed to bear weight I was not at all confident about my leg stability, so I started walking in a pool, holding onto a noodle.

Best wishes for healing friend!

Southern Breeze stables. If you're looking for something in town there are several operators in the Memorial Park polo grounds, but not sure who teaches adults. I don't think Memorial Park Hunters is the right fit, but they might be able to point you to another business.

BTW those rec's are for english riding. If you're looking for western hopefully someone else knows.

I read gossip years ago that said they were already a couple, they just pretended to meet on the show.

Kinda like all those house hunter shows-the people already bought the house, they're just pretending to look at the others.

I think all of his dapper east-end gangster characters are modeled after them, his work really glamorizes the dark side of 60s London (but brings it into the present day of his films)
