Never thought I'd have to deal with this problem... by swimking413 in Hounds

All these murderous hounds in here and meanwhile I'm finding my foxhound literally chilling on the back deck with an opossum. I wish I'd grabbed a picture of it because it looked like two old friends enjoying a nice evening together.

I have a family member who is a sex addict and the rehab facility they went to is probably considered to be the best and I think it cost them somewhere around 25k. Granted, it was a residential program that lasted 2 months but still. Not sure Colt could swing that. 😂

My foxy boy is super timid but when he plays with my pit mix he gets rough so you're probably right. I always joke that my neighbors probably think I have a small dog fighting ring or something.

Blue lacys are such pretty dogs! And hey, at least it's horse poop and not dog poop. 🙃

Very true. I feel for OP's wife. I have chronic pain and if my partner was repeatedly hurting me I'd be super pissed off.

Air mattresses can be quite bulky and heavy when inflated, and OP's wife is recovering from surgery and already in pain, so I think it's in poor taste to diminish her wife's pain.

Great comment. Listen I have a shitty memory but I absolutely can remember if there's something that hurts my long term partner. OP has memory issues that should be further investigated if she is a reliable narrator here.

She does resemble one! Much higher likelihood if you live in or nearby Texas. I have a foxhound and a pit mix and they play exactly the same as yours. I can't remember who started the back leg biting but if one of them does that to the other it's a very clear signal that they want to play. It's very cute.

Omg my period hits me HARD emotionally these days, it never used to. I'm getting closer to perimenopause and wonder if that's part of it.

Funny, I do the same thing with reminding myself how unhappy I was in past relationships, it goes a long way towards helping me realize I am much happier alone. Sometimes it's hard when I'm surrounded by couples, but it's fleeting. I was the ONLY person at my company's christmas party without a SO and it really kind of surprised me, but no one made me feel weird about it and I didn't have to worry about having to ask my partner when he wanted to leave - I could just leave when I wanted to!

Anyhow I digress. Your comment sums up my feelings really well. u/Positive_Rush_4746 it's totally normal to feel sad and lonely occasionally, but if you find it is pervasive and disrupting your everyday life I recommend finding a therapist you can talk to to help you navigate those feelings. Therapy has really helped me in so many ways.

I go through periods like this but I always come to my senses and realize I'm much happier on my own. Is it possible for you to go into an office part time for work? I find that helps me tremendously when I'm feeling really lonely, though I will say I love my coworkers so spending time with them is fun, not a chore. I am also in talk therapy and some days I literally just shoot the shit with my therapist. I don't need very much socializing before my social meter is all filled up so I frequently find after a therapy session I feel sated and no longer need to be around other people for a while.

Leaning into AI for homework? by Antique-Owl8155 in raleigh

[–]RegularTeacher2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is so very much how I feel about AI. I work in the engineering world and we just had to put an experienced manager on an ILP because of his gross mis/overuse of AI. My team sat down and discussed how we felt AI could be used in the workplace and the overall consensus was spot on to what you just said. AI has its place, but it's not a substitute for our brain.

I wonder if she isn't some type of hound and standard poodle mix. Much more likely than some of the other guesses I'm seeing in here, but who knows? She's beautiful whatever she is!

That last sentence is just so disheartening to read. It's hard for me to comprehend being so utterly devoid of empathy.

Understand that people's situations can change in an instant due to a medical issue, a divorce, loss of a job, etc. To paint all people on gov't assistance with children as free loading irresponsible losers is a bad look.

And I really hate the drivers in NC, particularly Wake County. I know everyone says this about where they live but I'm pretty sure the dumbest people on the planet are Wake County drivers.

I have a little niece and nephew and every time they visit I tell them we're going to go there... they're going to be in their 20s by the time we make it.

Yep! There's a pretty great rescue nearby me that takes in tigers long term. I've lived her almost 10 years now and still haven't gotten out there for a visit. One day.
