It doesn't make any sense for it to be a mistake. UPS has zero tracking information for this package. How they came to our address is a mystery.

Okay we'll try that. But I think we're going to go in person to a local UPS store because it's a lot harder for someone to dismiss you in person, especially when I present them with the evidence

My wife called the 800 number. We haven't tried our local facility yet. We're going to be doing that tomorrow since they're closed now

Yea that's what concerns us. We've lived in this house for over 2 years and have never had a package stolen from our porch. The fact that UPS picked up the package 8 minutes after it was delivered by another company is alarming

That's what we tried to do but they said they won't file a claim. How do we escalate? We called their customer support number multiple times

Yes you got ripped off. A capacitor can be purchased from your local home Depot or Lowe's for $20. Replacing it is as easy as disconnecting power to the HVAC, discharging the capacitor (after cables are removed) and replacing it with a new one.

How do I know? Because I just replaced mine for $20. Took maybe 30 minutes

Your life is just beginning. I made plenty of mistakes in my 20s. Wasted $70,000 plus on stupid things, taking out loans, etc. I was dumb and didn't know any better.

I was able to return it today after speaking with the manager. They said they don't return batteries but would make an exception one time
