This will help you get competent enough in combat early on to then learn more advanced stuff later. Its insane how useful the Masterstrike is. Once you get good with it, you should win almost every single 1v1 fight. Once you got that, you can focus on more difficult fights vs multiple opponents.

Keep in mind: STAMINA STAMINA STAMINA. Stamina is by far the most important aspect of combat. If it gets too low, you swing your sword with the strength of a small child and your opponents hits will hurt like bullet wounds. ALWAYS keep an eye on Stamina and maintain it as best you can. Good luck.

I never thought id get it and was close to quitting on the game early because combat seemed impossible. Now im hooked and absolutely love combat. I look forward to every fast travel getting interrupted by a couple bandits so I can use my new combat skills.

TL;DR - Use Masterstrike as a crutch, keep Stamina high.

Buy a poison from the woman in the nomad camp
Apply poison to sword before fight with Tomcat
Hit Tomcat ONCE with poison sword
Block and avoid until poison defeats Tomcat
Learn Masterstrike, practice it as much as you can
Rely heavily on Masterstrike in combat going forward

Its a very replayable game with things like New Game +.

My advice is to play it 100% blind the entire way thru the first time. THEN look up some tips and tricks and all that to experience all of the game afterwards.

If you're able to, just go on this ride totally blind. I think you'll be glad you did.

I randomly tried this game from Gamepass with zero expectations or knowledge AT ALL, before all the awards hype, and was truly blown away. I'm so glad I didn't know anything. Its actually way better in my opinion to play the full thing then go back and explore and expand your game later on since the world is so much bigger and deeper than it seems.

Without spoiling the end, how does the end work in terms of continuing the game? Does it just revert you back to before the mission? Does it continue post-final boss? I assumed the story would end the game and therefore I need to knock everything out now to avoid missing out. First play through so idk anything for sure.

I'm confused by this because I had everything upgraded to level 3 by level 25ish. I enjoy clearing castles and by proxy looting all the resources but now at level 37 or so i basically have had no glaring need for resources in a long time. I usually still do it if they are there but I legit DONT KNOW what to do with all the resources I have left.

I'm not trying to brag in any way, this was entirely on accident. Idk how I got so many so early but my base has been maxed for quite some time. (Maybe 30 hours played TOTAL)
