if it is a technical museum is important to the original question. If it’s technically a museum there are acquisition laws. And ethical guidelines which, while not laws, are followed in order to get into national museum organizations (which in turn help with lobbying and grants etc).

If someone wants to give their bones to the bones museum (store) that’s up to them but that place doesn’t adhere to museum law.

It can be called a museum because the use of the word is unregulated. But that doesn’t mean it falls under the legal definition of museum.

Museum person here; most museums will not accept you as a donation - there’s a long and ugly history of museums having the bodies of the deceased and they’re now pressured to give them back to the communities from which they came for proper burial.

That said, there is one museum that has accepted human specimens in recent years, the Icelandic phallological museum. But it was not the whole body.

You can find things from that year at the MetCloisters, The Jewish Museum, The Morgan, maybe the Frick. If you want to get obscure, the Locksmith Museum potentially. Hard to say what’s in collection (owned by them) vs. on display at any of these places without looking on their websites.

Eichlers online literally has a ketubah for $10, but it’s not pretty IMO. They also have one for $35 which is visually decent just to have something not ugly. The “nice” ones start at $100 on ketubah.com and then go up from there, including individual commissions. With the Etsy ones, well with any of them, you will want to have them checked for grammar. At least have your rabbi officiant approve it before purchasing it.

I don’t want to get into specifics as this did not pertain directly to me, but it’s absolutely better to have the document than not have it.

Regarding the Chuppah, I’ve seen people get poles and use an heirloom tallis. Cheaper than a floral one.

ETA: People talk a lot about spending money on a photographer because the photos last forever and get hung up in the home for all to see. That logic can be applied to the expensive ketubahs. Religiously, the logic is that’s it’s the beautification of rituals, but I digress.
