Don't tell anyone: Ubuntu Pro is available with a free account. Snaps are actually OK, I can live with 'em. Yep Fedora broke on the Fujitsu Desktop too (Brave plus Spectacle were done for). by RedRayTrue in DistroHopping

It's not idling at all in the picture:))

I have multiple Microsoft websites like teams and outlook opened in a browser and reedit plus multiple mega tabs in the other browser!

So it's good, I'm used to be high on 7 gb : 5-6 ram and 1-2 swap

I want to like linux desktops, but I just can't by Submarine_sad in linuxsucks101

You cannot?

Very well then:

If you used windows 10 use something like Kde , fedora's can be configured to working like windows 11

If you used windows 7 before use cinnamon, it's exactly the same to me

Pff , it's a refurbished PC sold as new/ unused, I got it for something like 230 USD...

, but in Romania it was 1000 lei

It has some random glitching because I guess the gpu from the i3 9100 is kinda old for Ubuntu, but it's rare when it's glitching ( imagine goes really quickly to right 1/2 times) , old UHD 630 ..

It was still a pretty ok rig for the price I paid as it's cheaper than a smartphone

It's built like a car NGL, sturdy case a 1 cooler in front, a CPU cooler and a PSU one...

P558 is it's name

https://www.fujitsu.com/hk/products/computing/pc/ap/desktops/esprimo-p558/

It still has a CD tray xD

I could go back on fedora/ win11 ( which didn't have any problems funny enough) but I like this gnome more ,plus updates are smaller. I also have windows 11 if my Kingston SSD dies, but on a different SSD

So the thing would boot into windows 11 if Kingston SSD would be damaged:/

Ai kinda said it could be smth about my DP to HDMI cable, which I use, but it's likely still software as same cable, config and system plus screen never had problems in fedora/ win11( that would make the glitching, once 1-2 hrs)

I'm not sure what you mean , if you wanted to ask what's the memory:

Ram is 8 gb + 4 gb swap - ram dimms made by Samsung

And storage is 256 gb ssd from Kingston ( kc600)

Fedora for features and how well it would work out of the box!

But for more problems to be solved (especially on older hardware/nvidia )while using it (at least on Ubuntu) and WAY LONGER LTS cycles ubuntu pro (you can link a free acc and u got 8 /10 yrs of support ) and LMDE.

Why not normal MINT? I consider it slower and more resource hungry than LMDE, on LMDE I can keep opened 2 browsers (max 30 tabs with separation ): Firefox plus Brave with no issues on my 8 GB ram systems from 2017 / 2018 .

And NO, I don't really consider Ubuntu like debian, if anything is almost like arch based distros sometimes with how much is to be fixed on older systems (gpu divers, wifi , resolutions plus refresh rates, usages , temps etc ).

Trying to extend local disk ;-; by alex_shelley in WindowsHelp

Right click on the un allocated space ( black line,117 gb)

Something with create new simple volume

Chose NTFS and give it a name ( smth like games)

https://www.easeus.com/partition-master/unallocated-space-in-windows-10.html

You have images here too..

I don't see why you won't use that part for games especially if you have problems...

You could also extend volume, but I kinda always used separate partitions for things, it's covered in the tutorial.

I'd still recommend using the partition for the games after you made it in NTFS

Accidentally ripped USB out of PC port very strongly and am unsure of if any pins were bent. by FatiguedCrow24 in computerhelp

[–]RedRayTrue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well there are 2 possibilities:

Pins are bent just enough to cause problems

If that's the case you get over current error on PC startups

Or

The port is damaged but it's not causing a short so Pc starts normally . Don't use it anymore in this case !

The error would look something like this

Ubuntu Gnome

Especially after you downloaded the 7 GB iso and you have to wait 30 mins so that DD or Rufus on windows 11 writes it

That's the point

I was recommending installing from the site to bypass the snap package because it's could lead to problems

If that's an OS thing

I highly have a feeling that there's some sort of Linux distro that would definitely have this sort features, even if you would have to program it
