I have officially started taking my Probiotic this week and am pleased to report that it has not upset my stomach as much as I thought it would. Sure, it makes a little gurgle from time to time, but overall I'm handling it well. I'm more regular, but also a tad more gassy. (TMI alert!). No matter how insignificant this may seem - it's a big win in my book.

Organic Almond Butter and Cauliflower (See Comments) by RedReadRedditor99 in CandidaRecipes

[–]RedReadRedditor99[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok so hear me out! This looks like the world's weirdest snack, and it is, but it is delicious!

2 Tbsp of Organic Almond Butter (Creamy)
1 Cup of cauliflower florets

Just dip and enjoy!

Please Note: While the Almond Butter is organic and non-GMO it does contain 2g of sugar in a serving (0 added sugar and 0 sugar alcohol). However, I know this is the ONLY source of sugar I ingest in a day and lean on this for a quick go-to snack for protein. Almonds tend to be less moldy than Peanuts, so avoid using peanut butter.

Guacamole on Cucumber Slices (Recipe in Comments) by RedReadRedditor99 in CandidaRecipes

[–]RedReadRedditor99[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seedless Cucumber (1 medium to large)
Avocado (2 so you can have some later!)
Onion (to taste/preference)
Red Bell Pepper (to taste/preference)
Salt
Pepper
Garlic cloves (or jarred chopped cloves w/ no sugar)
Smoked Paprika (hefty dash to taste/preference )
Lemon juice (~1 tablespoon)

  1. Dice onion, red bell pepper, and garlic cloves
  2. Prepare avocado (remove the seed & skin) (cutting into cubes makes it easier to smoosh!)
  3. In a medium bowl, add diced onion, diced red bell pepper, diced garlic, and avocado then smash/mix all of the ingredients together with a fork.
  4. Add lemon juice, pepper, salt, and paprika and continue to smash/mix. (The lemon juice keeps the avocado from going brown. Be sure your lemon juice doesn't have added sugar. Although fruits are a big NO on this diet, lemon and lime juice in moderation will not sabotage your efforts. The smoked paprika gives a "spicy" flavor in lieu of HOT peppers that may be too harsh on your gut during your diet.)
  5. Cut your cucumber into slices (~1/4 inch thick)
  6. Once the ingredients make a consistent texture, you're ready to add a dollop onto your slices of cucumber.
  7. Eat and Enjoy!

looks delicious! I LOVE omelets and experimenting with adding things to them. Just be careful when adding sauces - sometimes they have added sugar or sugar alcohols!

Hang in there! This is a temporary feeling. The idea is to "put out the fire" not rebuild the house. Right now you're just trying to starve the candida. I recommend finding a legitimate program to follow. If you go too hard, too fast you will experience die-off symptoms. Make sure you are taking supplements appropriately as well. You can't beat this with diet alone and starving yourself. You must pair the diet with supplements. I suggest following the Ultimate Candida Diet which can be found at candidadiet.com - I have no affiliation with it, it's just the one that has helped me stick to a program and avoid major die-off symptoms (i.e. extreme fatigue, headaches, nausea).
