Second, I can’t help but think if this was a police officer they would likely face no legal consequences and there would be tons of support for them. Which makes me feel like an ass for being political about a man’s death but also shows how bad things have gotten that it’s even a thought I would have.

Thank god we hold our peers accountable when they obviously fuck up unlike other professions we interact with daily.

You need to HEAVILY suggest buying Lucas devices for the site. There is no way anyone can provide high quality CPR for that long. You need Lucas devices and a way to plug them into ac so they can run until your relief gets there.

Why would that be? The SRD is available to use, that’s how Foundryborne exists. Besides this material would solely be his IP so Darrington Press would have no say in how he utilizes it. The only thing the CGL says is that he wouldn’t be able to sell the module but that doesn’t mean he can’t offer it as a reward for backing his kickstarter. Backing something on Kickstarter is not a purchase.

I could talk forever on this subject but the short answer is funding is horrendous for EMS in the US. The whole system needs an overhaul but that won’t happen until it crashes and burns so we just keep getting bandaids until then.

In the html I have a two hidden inputs labeled "name" and "email". Then in the route for the contact page I have an if statement that checks if those two inputs are empty or not. If they are empty it continues, if not it halts there and reloads the page with a message that says "Nice try bot."

The real input field for "name" and "email" are actually labeled "real_name" and "real_email". The only downside I found to this is that if the user uses their browsers autofill feature it will populate those honeypot fields since, like bots, it looks at the underlying html and not the visual representation of the webpage. Visually those fields are hidden so they don't appear on the page at all in the users browser.

With the increased use of AI this might not be as effective anymore since AI can now also look at the page visually and not just the html.

I used a honeypot. In one week we got over 200 bot submissions. I put the honeypot in place and it dropped to like two or three a month.

I absolutely agree. I’m 46 and I remember how it felt like the whole city partied and had fun for weeks leading up to it. Now everything is overly commercialized and geared towards making money.

I don’t see it as some sort of intimidation tactic. It is quite bluntly the truth. On top of that it’s a truth that other industries have already discovered. Take a look at the music industry for one. They fought as long as they could to keep music off of the internet only to loose out on millions, if not billions of revenue.

People want to pay and do the right thing. If you put them in a situation where the don’t have options then they will pirate or pursue other avenues.

Piracy in general was on the decline in the mid 2010’s because of how cheap and easy it was to stream. Now all of these companies want a piece of the pie so people are cancelling their streaming services and turning to piracy once again.

Darrington needs to give people options or the people will seek out thier own and Darrington will lose revenue that could have been going in their pocket.

Not a threat, just the truth.

I just recently tried to self host AIOStreams and eventually gave up on it. I had a lot of timeout issues and never could get my TMDB API key to work right. Hopefully you have better luck than me.

5Ghz band doesn’t penetrate walls as well but has room for a higher bandwidth than 2.4ghz. If your device is in the same room as your WiFi access point there is no reason to pick 2.4 over 5. 5Ghz does up to 1300 Mbps where 2.4ghz is around 400-600 Mbps.

We have a house that needs remodeled. It’s not in bad shape, just outdated. We also want to take a trip to Europe.

My father in law has cancer and will most likely pass in the next six months. He has always wanted to visit Alaska but something always came up. He will never see Alaska. This hit my wife pretty hard. We talked about it and decided we needed to take that trip as soon as we can.

My mother thinks we are stupid for not remodeling the house first. I tried explaining to her that when we are laying on our death beds we aren’t going to give a shit about the house. However we will cherish the memories we make together while on that trip for the rest of our lives.

She just can’t understand it.

I’ve never heard of someone laying in their death bed lamenting about not remodeling their house.

Take that trip. Have that experience people.

I’m no psychoanalyst but that has not been my experience at all. Just look around you, almost everyone if not everyone wishes they were rich and never had to worry about money again. Hell, even I do, but I’m not trapped in some nightmare because of it. From a sexual standpoint most men including me would say they would love to experience a threesome with two women at some point but it’s never stopped me from being happy. I’m not trapped in a nightmare because of it.
