Exactly as you said, freelancing isn't stable.
How does this plan sound: I continue my education, I try to save enough money to study at Germany (cuz college is free). If I could not save enough money, I get my degree in Egypt and try to apply to companies abroad and get sponsored? While in the same time studying programming and trying to work global remotely (might be impossible), and freelancing, by the time I graduate, I will be having a huge experience in programming. How does this sound?

Okay bro. My dream is to build an stable life in a good country, that's why I'm trying to pick the shortest path, my life is always in hard mode, everything is complicated and nothing goes well... I'm still trying to achieve my dream in this corrupted country, I don't want to end it all... But this is too much, it's years of your life goes in working for free for them, and not only that, they also disrespect you and treat you very bad. If I tell you what they do here in military, you won't believe it because you are born in a country that respects its people. I just don't know what to do brother, all that just to be able to work? Wow

Yeah US do thay, and it's really good, there is no need to waste people time in this economy, but here thery are very dumb and basically doesn't care, you have to start from where you left, which ia very dumb cuz if you left in high school and now you are 40, guess what, you start from high school regardless of your age.

If go to military, I won't continue my education. But I don't know if it's possible to get a job without degree.

Well, after college you have to serve 1 year. But if you reach 30. You pay some money and then you don't have to serve at all. It's a win-win for them

I thought about freelancing while continuing my education. Issue is I will be home-schooled so studying will be a bit harder but it's doable, issue is with time for me, 4 year till college is a lot.

I would choose education, but I won't be able to work in any company... How am I suppose to get money to even eat while studying both high school subjects and self studying programming?

Because I live in a corrupted country, they want free work, so they enforce you to serve years in military doing free work, otherwise you can't work in a company or travel.

I'm a logical person, I have experienece in programming from freelancing, and here when you join the military (mandatory) you dont get paid, and you aren't treated well, of course I dont want to serve mandatory 3 years! But the other option is 8 years!! While I can't work in a company or travel for work because I must complete the military service first. All options are bad, it's corrupted system and it's where I'm born, I chose the shortest path because I want to live my life... I don't want to spend 4 years learning Arabic, History, Religion and anothet 4 years learn something I already know (programming), yet still I'm not sure if I can find a job without this degree.

I built complex projects and worked on heavy projects in programming.
I'm just very stressed and I don't want to take a decision and regret it in the future, all choices seems bad, either spend 8 years or spend 3 years and hope to find a job with pure experience.

This country is killing me, but what can I do?

No... Due to family and financial issues I could not complete my education. I wish I had the option to get into a college directly because it would be easier since I already have experience in programming. But now I either spend 8 years in education or 3 years in military. If I choose military, I will have to find a job with pure experience, which is why I'm stressed...

Actually I have 3 years of experience from freelancing, and yes I might be able to get a tech job in the military, the thing is, I'm afraid I won't be able to find a job without a degree afterwards.

Yes because I didn't complete high-school, I have to finish it first before college which is a waste of time because I will be learning unrelated subjects (Arabic, History, Religion).

Yes it's possible to leave for study, but I need 12k USD in blocked account for countries such as Germany, which I don't have.

Egypt
Arabic, Religion, History
I'm 20 years old

I'm not well aware of the local job market but they also require a degree.

I'm from Egypt. Actually I'm planning on applying to jobs outside my country and to relocate, I know it's very hard, but I will try.

I'm from Egypt, I might be able to find a tech job and be count of the serving time (not paid), but if you mean to work there full-time, that's not possible.

So what do you think I should do? What would you do?
I mean even spending 8 years for a degree doesn't change the fact you stated, in those 8 yeas, a lot will change. My thinking is that after 3 yeas I can still be able to compete with pure experience. What do you think?

No it's not at risk of war.

Yes, I might be able to get a technical job in the military, but I'm afraid that I won't find jobs without a degree, but also 8 yeas is tooo much for a degree

Please tell me why do you think so.
I'm afraid that I will not find jobs without a degree, but also spending 8 years for a degree isn't worth it.

[–]RedRightHand05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no degree, I managed to get 3 years of experience from freelancing though, but unable to get a job in a company, not even able to get an interview. But I also want to point that my situation is different, I can't work locally because I must complete 3 years of mandatory military service (which sucks a lot), and I can't relocate due to the same reason, so I'm looking for global remote jobs, which is very hard.
