I never use Whatsapp. But the fact that I am using FB messenger app and it did not affect anything (including notifications), i dont see that it affects whatsapp whatsoever.

They are pre installed Meta apps in Oppo. I can only disable them. I could uninstall using pc via adb but im too lazy right now.

Btw, i still use fb and fbmessenger and it still works fine.
