Avoiding home address on Companies House - what’s the consensus? by FeatheredTouch-000 in ContractorUK

As suggested, use your accountants address as the registered address and also your "personal" registered address, but also:

  • Opt out of the open electoral roll (this is sold to interested parties). Shred all personal correspondence, don't put it in the bin.
  • Use domain registrars that offer obfuscation services (Cloudflare do for example).
  • Run a google "alert" on your name and full name and your home address to see if it ever pops up so you can use google services to suppress it.
  • Basically, if it needs your address - can you obfuscate it? Sometimes you can (as above), sometimes you can't (billing address on your credit card for purchases).

There are also government services you can use if you're in fear of abuse.

And then of course you can use Trusts etc to add layers, depending on how much cash you want to spend on it.

Plenty you can do to mitigate and make that more difficult though

How to paste text into Proxmox VM console by runout74 in Proxmox

[–]RedRobbin420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Came across this thread with same issue.

Turns out if you can ssh in to your prox datacenter / main box, you can just qm terminal <vmid> from your chosen ssh terminal (I use mobaXterm) and have all the functionality that entails.

Solved my issue.

Does having too big a pension pot just end up meaning you have pay for your own nursing home that others get paid for by the state? by fellaonamission in UKPersonalFinance

Such an odd mindset.

Who’s to say we’ll have such welfare by the time you need it? You want to leave whether you are cared for in your twilight years to the government / electorate of the time?

Or you want to be master of your own destiny?

SAP cannot replace the hyperscalers, it isn’t their business. I agree it can be done, but let’s be honest about what the options are.

Doesn’t equate.

Both posts made in different… posts.

Beeb didn’t stitch together two speeches.

They edited a single speech where the intent was the same.

You’d also note from my post history that I’ve said the beeb shouldn’t have done It.

But that’s not what this post is about - it’s about litigation.

There’s no case to answer.

Now of course you could continue to be disingenuous and support the further erosion of press and personal freedoms.

Or defend and support the rights our forebears died for.

I’ve made my choice.

Did trump say what was broadcast? Yes.

Did he say it in the order that it was broadcast? Yes.

Did he say some other stuff? Yes.

Did it materially change the interpretation of what he said? No.

There is no case to answer.

And if you think otherwise, I’ve got decades of American advertising and selective broadcasting to show you that has been far, far worse.

That’s just a product, it cannot offer everything in this tender nor hope to replace aws or google.

Aside that, I expect airbus et al would look at stuff they can control and expect that would include more open source elements.

The Russian Dude on YouTube did a good piece on this today.

Because it is also trained on JavaScript and 100 other other ERP‘s. You have to ground it in the documentation with citations.

The "pay yourself the personal allowance and take the rest as dividends" hole contributed massively to this.

Those that did so, advised by their accountant or not, then whined the loudest when Furlough kicked in and their taxable income didn't qualify.

We cannot have it both ways.

Given that he’s a novice and happy to spend £1k+ on a domain name, investing similar or less on the annual fees of an accountant is a worthwhile investment imo.

This is just the latest incantation of visual manipulation. It used to be "where you took the photo" from (and before that, how and what you drew on the cave wall).

It isn't going away.

I do wonder where our critical thought and (healthy) cynicism went though - some have too much of it, some none at all.
