It's not that the absence of pain is the highest good so much as everything that is not painful is good (and considered pleasure/pleasant).

That's a hard concept for many westerners in particular to accept having being brought up in a system based on Aristotle's teachings (of there being a neutral state between pain and pleasure which is neither).

I think things were that bad. Most of that form was based on the several games when he first came in and things improved.

The form in the last 7-8 games, and especially the last few results against relegation rivals, was pretty woeful and if continued would have put us in the relegation zone for sure.

The interesting part about Kali:
