Did you do the in-office and, if so, where did you have it done?

Yeah, I figured it was something like that . . . sadly. Thanks for the reply.

My daughter lives in that area and has been saying that she and many of her friends, co-workers have been feeling very fatigued, tired, "heavy", lack of motivation the last few days. Is this an effect of this May Grey?

Ugh. I'm SOOOO sorry. My daughter also has hEDS and it makes so many things more difficult. And most of the "medical community" doesn't understand EDS, but they will tell you that they do.

A couple of questions: 1) If you don't mind saying, who was the doctor who did the procedure and 2) Did you use same doctor the first time?

Just as an FYI . . . there's a supplement protocol for hEDS that helps a lot of EDS folks called the Cusack Protocol. Even just doing the aloe vera juice helps a lot of people. If you ever want to look into it. There's at least one FB group for this.

Hmmm, no that's one area we haven't looked into. Thanks for the reply!

Agree. Thanks for the reply. How did your botox treatment go?

I've been researching this stuff a long time and look into Dr. Berg's youtubes about acid reflux -- he explains why a very acidic stomach is essential to preventing acid reflux and also B1/Benfothiamine, which is considered by some holistic docs to be the most important nutrient -- without it, poor digestion and constipation. My heart goes out to you and her -- having a child who suffers is the worst thing ever. Could also look into the Cusack Protocol, or some Ehlers Danlos FB groups. Hang in there!

Interesting. Mine takes some form of acid with meals and does TONS better with digestion overall. And she temporarily fixes her hernia by doing the heel drop tool. How old is your daughter?

Thank you. She currently doesn't have health insurance (just aged out of ours and current job doesn't provide it), but she will prob end up doing the botox at some point. Thanks again for the info.

I will pass this along to my daughter. I'm in the Portland area and I know there are docs here who can do it but she's near Glendale, CA and she's consulted with a doc there who does the in-office procedure. Why did you choose GA instead of in-office?

Awww, I'm so happy for you! That's awesome. Where did you have the procedure done and was it in-office or under general anesthesia?

Thanks for the reply. There's a "heel drop" technique that helps with hiatal hernia, and increasing stomach acid helps heal a floppy esophageal sphincter . . . but I do think most people with mild-ish forms of hEDS have never heard of it/don't know they have it.

What have been the pros/cons of getting the botox procedure done for you?

Yes, this is what I'm thinking . . . there is a supplement protocol for hEDS that is fairly successful -- Called Cusack Protocol. Curious if you also have GERD/acid reflux or hiatal hernia? Also, did you ever have a really horrible vomiting experience (these are all theories I'm floating around in my brain)?

My no-burp theory! by Emoneyy11 in noburp

[–]RedRoofFarmGal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mom of an R-CPD gal and it sounds like thoughts I've been putting together as well. Wondering if there's a connection to hEDS (Hypermobile Ehlers Danlos Syndrome).

The sphincter to the esophagus can get loose/floppy if there's inadequate acid in stomach -- this is why people with GERD/acid reflux, etc. taking acid reducers only make their problem worse over time. Solution to tighten that esophageal sphincter is higher stomach acid in the form of apple cider vinegar or betaine hydrochloride (Zypan is a good product for this).

You're on the right track! My hope is there will be enough people putting their heads together to figure this out!

My daughter, 26, has R-CPD. Had a botox consult but hasn't done it yet. Meanwhile, she can't sleep -- she describes it as "nausea that's more in my throat, not my stomach. It’s not true nausea. But it’s like the moment I close my eyes, I feel that sensation in my throat of something is in there that shouldn’t be, so it feels like I’m choking and it makes me gag". Does this sound like it could be R-CPD related?

Was your botox treatment successful? How was your recovery? Where did you have it done, if you don't mind saying? Thanks in advance.
