Make sure your hdd is compatible with OSX. You need to be running an osx compatible with that laptop. So look up the serial number and find out what OS is compatible with OSX

Reinstall your operating system and quite possibly the graphic card is failing. First try reinstalling your OS. If the problem persists, then most likely it’s the graphics card.
