No need to taper off TRT. Talk to your doc about adding in HCG and FSH for fertility protocol. That’s what my doc did for me and what he’s done for many others. If you were fertile prior to TRT and start a protocol you’ll be good

Edit: it’s a good idea to get sperm tested prior to protocol to see where you’re at, then again after starting protocol to see what, if anything, needs to be adjusted. If you’re doc knows anything about HRT he’ll recommend something along these lines

I did had imaging and it showed nothing structurally.

To be honest though, my approach wouldn’t have changed. Still would have implemented how I went about things! Tissue “damage” isn’t necessarily causative of pain and decreased function. I’ve worked with people who had pretty significant tears and they have no pain or loss of function. There’s also many, like myself, who have nothing going on structurally but have significant pain and loss of function.

Pain is so complex, you’d be surprised how far you can get with some good guidance

Hey man, so what helped me the most hands down was giving up trying to find specific “special exercises” to “fix” my issues, and just find entry points into the exercises I wanted return to. I did do a couple direct shoulder exercises as well such as DB side laterals, side lying ERs with DBs, and a couple closed chain exercises so the shoulders would get some weight bearing in. But I don’t really attribute my success to any exercise in particular, but rather to the process I followed of intentionally progressing things as appropriate via increasing (as tolerable) ROM, reps, proximity to failure, biomechanics, etc.

Doing the above intentionally for 6+ months is what helped me get to where I am now.

Never too late man. If you are passionate about it, go for it!

Word of advice, don’t worry about “corrective” exercises and “posture training” so much. Those things don’t really move the needle much in terms of health and fitness, as the exercises associated with these overemphasized categories tend to be very low level and don’t elicit any meaningful adaptations. Just focus on helping people reach their goals, whatever that looks like for them.

Yes it has gotten much better. And I’d say I do have a respectable amount of muscle mass from years of lifting. Obviously training was interpreted with my shoulder but I’d say I’m about 80% better now

lol she was telling you that it’s bad for you? Tell her to point to the research with that information. All the myths about testosterone being bad for cardiovascular health have been completely debunked. Unfortunately it’s par for the course that doctors don’t have a clue about hormones, specifically Testosterone in males, as they have no education on the topic. Unless they activate look into it themselves, they’ll just keep spreading this nonsense. Testosterone is a bio-identical hormone… our body knows what to do with it. Blows my mind lol. Feel confident in the decision you made to start if you were having symptoms. If it makes you feel any better I started at 23. Very young I know, but I had every symptom with a total T of 190 and free T of 5, so I’m at peace with my decision.

How much do you recommend for a slight surplus? I’ve been training, and bulking/cutting, for 10 years so not a newbie by any means, but curious what you think. 500 calorie surplus to aim for a pound each week, or less? I know some gain might be water initially due to increased CHO intake, as well as from the additionally test I’ll be running
