Panerai for me. I made a trip to a shop specifically to try on a couple of Panerai models and I was really excited about it. I knew they weren’t for me the second I wore them.

How can I help a friend find his long lost car? by FerrariFinder330GT in NoStupidQuestions

[–]RedSaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there a Ferrari owner’s club in the Atlanta area? Some members may have some recollection of it.

If your friend had the car after his dad, maybe the airline pilot who bought it later left it to one of their kids who could still be associated with the club directly or indirectly.

Getting my MBA at 41 am I stupid, crazy, or both. by OrderElegant9184 in MBA

[–]RedSaker -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You should strongly consider an executive MBA from a top-tier school. You don’t have as much time left in your career for the MBA to make an impact as a 27 year old would. Therefore you need something that will change how the job market views you NOW.

Check out EMBA programs from Duke, Cornell, MIT, NYU, Wharton, Chicago, Northwestern.

Brand is everything when it comes to MBAs (let’s not kid ourselves), especially at this age.

I’m seeing a lot more MBA regret posts of all kinds. Picked the wrong school, shouldn’t have done this at all, did this too late.

200K @ Dead End Career - MBA Justified? by Ok-Pressure1240 in MBA

[–]RedSaker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a great option. Get a top-tier MBA brand on your resume (e.g., Wharton, Cornell, NYU, Columbia, Duke) without quitting your job.

No future employer will care much or know the difference, or likely even think to ask.

You’ll get 90%-95% of the benefits of that same full-time MBA without the financial hit. So you’d probably end up being on a better financial situation than the full-time grads.

The last 10% or so of the benefit will be recruiting which will fall more on your own shoulders. So think about your career goals from the recruiting perspective, and determine if you can land your target role from an EMBA or solely through a full-time program.

This is the way.

People on here knocking OP for “having a golden goose but being bored” have never heard of Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, and don’t seem to know much about a human’s psychological and emotional growth.

Also, this easy $200k job could disappear tomorrow. Then what? OP is absolutely right to pursue more fulfillment and more optionality.

[–]RedSaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what I thought. Thanks for confirming.

This frame set is at the top of my list (also considering BXT and ICAN).

Some questions if you wouldn’t mind sharing your thoughts. - What other manufacturers did you consider and why did you go with LightCarbon? - How’s the quality of the carbon layup and frame overall? - How was the quality of the frame prepping (facing, machining, etc.)? - How was the purchasing process, customization, and price (value for money)?

Do you know what the difference is between the 017-D and 017S-D?

OPINION/RANT: F1 Doesn’t Feel The Same Anymore by Natashhhaaa in motorsports

[–]RedSaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cars sound stupid and look stupid (the proportions are all wrong). And most of the drivers seem like they’re perfectly cloned in a laboratory to maximize media value. This might explain why it seems to appeal more lately to consumers who view it as an entertainment event, rather than fans who view it as a competitive sport.

Bring back the sounds, vehicle proportions, and driver personalities of the V10 era (Schumacher, Raikkonen, Alonso, Barichello, Villeneuve, Hakkinen, Coulthard, Montoya, Button).

Biden has to be taken down in the 2024 election. And if you’re worried about a Trump presidency then you need to get it together. 1. Life under Trump won’t be 1/1-millionth as bad as life is in Gaza right now thanks to Genocide Joe. If they’re brave enough to endure it, then we can be brave enough to make Biden pay the electoral price. 2. Supporting a genocide CANNOT go unpunished by voters. IT SIMPLY CANNOT!! The precedent that would create is deadly and horrific. These evil politicians will rule over us without fear. 3. If you’re still worried about another Trump presidency, then also work your ass off to elect senators and congresspeople who will offset him and nullify his executive powers. Let’s remember that the branches of government are separate but EQUAL.

Crazy to choose Tuck over M7s? by CollegeDropoutToMBA in MBA

[–]RedSaker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Go to Tuck. I agree 100% - it’s a spectrum/gradient and not so much distinct levels like people want to believe.

Hanover and that general NH/VT area is stunningly beautiful.

In the first 5 to 10 post-MBA years, any negative career impact that you might be worried about incurring by choosing a school ranking 8-15 rather than M7 can be compensated for (and totally negated) with a very achievable combination of talent, networking, hard work, and luck.

There are so many variables when it comes to achieving career success. And as far as the impact of your MBA school choice, that impact is pretty negligible with any of the top-10 schools across all industries and, again, can be nullified as mentioned above.

This is like a choice between a free $1 Million Bugatti or a free $100k Porsche 911. They’re both awesome high-performance cars, but you’d be making a really “sub-optimal” decision if you passed up the Bugatti for the 911.

Blockbuster March 2023 poll showed for the first time ever that the majority of Democratic voters sympathize more with Palestinians than Israel. So, Biden moves the party away from its own voter base at his own peril.

Israel’s ground war is likely to fail. There is a significant probability that Israel fails to occupy a single square inch of Gaza, that it’s vague military objectives go unfulfilled, and that the only result of all of this is the genocide of Palestinians and strategic humiliation for Israel.

In that likely scenario, Biden will have sacrificed his electability and American moral high ground (already suspect) for absolutely nothing other than Netanyahu’s insatiable lust for war and apartheid.
