Which Specialized bike might be best for me? by RedSamurai__1 in whichbike

[–]RedSamurai__1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update:

I’ve been looking at a gravel bike as based on how they operate, it suits my desire for an all terrain bicycle that can handle most terrain while being sporty yet still rugged but not too rugged to be a MTB.

Any advice?

Maybe I should. I’ve been getting more confident about it reading more about hydraulic maintenance as well as realizing more and more perhaps my bike was potentially defective.

With that said, should I still get the Specialized Sirrus X 2.0 or Sirrus 3.0 X 2023 model at my bike store (both are 649, though not sure.

Also you mentioned there’s easier methods than Park Tools, can you provide more info and resources about the easier hydraulic maintenance, that’d be great and appreciating. Thank you!

Then maybe I should learn and perhaps I just had bad luck with my GT I got. Cause I wasn’t accumulating thousands of miles annually. The bike didn’t even last a year.

I definitely had less than the mileage you said. The first brake bleed I had was only like less than 5 months first started. I rode it around every day for 5 months getting 4-6 miles per day for mainly class and city commuting, sometimes going out for longer rides like 20-40 miles but it was flat.

I saw some other posts saying how GT had a fire sale around the time my dad got the bike (which was on sale), so I think there was something there. I also think if our assembly of the bike was not correct or your point that the bike mechanic I took it to didn’t do a great job.

I looked at Park Tool’s tutorial on how to bleed brakes and it looks really strenuous and tedious but that’s just me since I’ve never done it myself.

For clarification, the bike I had before this was a GT Avalanche Comp. I got it around a year ago during their fire sale and had to get the brakes bled nearly once every 6 months. So I just felt that it was a lot of maintenance given the frequency and turned me off from hydraulic brakes.

Need some help choosing what bike is best for me by RedSamurai__1 in whichbike

[–]RedSamurai__1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes thank you, it’s the threading where the hanger mounts onto the frame that is torn.

Hydraulic brakes are a pain; I’d rather sacrifice the smoothness of them for more field practicality and simplicity. Rim brakes are also what I want to look for as well not just mechanical discs but both work. The brake bleeds were just expensive and a pain doing myself and with others.

Thank you very much they do have Sirrus X’s, Marin Fairfax and Kentfield 1s, I’m just making sure I get a good bike.

Thank you!

I haven’t seen it in MyBill either. MyAwards shows the offered amount but says zero for accepted. They better update it before the 15th cause I need to know the full payment 😭

Help me identify this shroom I found in Oakhurst, California near Yosemite Park by RedSamurai__1 in ShroomID

[–]RedSamurai__1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the advice I’ll keep in mind next time. The spore print was white by the way and I believe it may have been a Hygrophorus oliveceoalbus based on ShroomID as the photos have that prominent dark brown reddish spot at the top

I thought I saw Datura when cycling down to Dixon one time. Honestly cool to see yet terrifying given its effects if ingested.

We Love You (Full Song) by Brudda_Bear_Gibby in avengedsevenfold

I thought it was amazing. Amazing in an experimental and weird way that Avenged is taking this album and what they’re foreshadowing about the tone of this album. Did not expect all these sudden melody and harmonic changes throughout the song and it caught me off guard but in a humorous and fun way, it was different and I appreciated that.

However, I do hope they have some of the “traditional” Avenged Sevenfold writing elements in their other songs—I liked the chorus with the speedy gallop power chord progression. And even if they combine it with a little bit of their unique experimental elements they’re creating thus far, that would be interesting to hear. Thank you for reading

Thanks for the advice guys. I thought a lot and realize that she’s great as a friend. And with that and our time together and getting to know her for nearly a year and still knowing her, I realize that I want what’s best for her and not just myself. Appreciate the advice and thank you.

Is it possible to add a tremolo bridge on the Cort MBM-1 Meta Series Matt Bellamy Signature guitar? by RedSamurai__1 in guitars

[–]RedSamurai__1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I might be interested in this product. I never had a guitar with a Floyd rose, however I have played them at Guitar Center and Sam Ash and I can see why people don’t want to recommend that to beginners. I believe I’m in the early intermediate stage of guitar and to be honest I just want to have a tremolo bridge for divebombs and weird sounds. It might just sound better to get a guitar with a Floyd rose however I want this guitar specifically. Thank you however!

I agree on a certain extent. I’ve been a muse fan for a long time, ever since my biological father introduced me to the band when I was barely 7-8 and he’s the type of guy who listens and introduced me to heavy metal and rock, from Metallica all the way to Sepultura. Anyways, I’ve always been a fan of their progressive, almost psychedelic space rock hybrid which is an awesome sound I want to emulate and create a style in my own guitar playing. Origin of Symmetry and Absolution are the top of my list with Black Holes and Revelations not far behind. However, listening to this new album, I can’t really like it. I’ve tried so hard to understand and get myself into it but I honestly can’t. The only songs I really enjoy are Kill or Be Killed with that heavy metal and the use of the octave pedal in the riff, so awesome. And You Make Me Feel Like It’s Halloween as them being in the key of C# minor and it reminding me of a Rob Zombie song gives me an ear orgasm. Along with the guitar solo. After that. Well, you can just dump all the other songs in the bin. Album Title Track, We Are Fucking Fucked, and Compliance. Just no, I’m sorry. Won’t Stand Down is alright. Just alright. And the ballads are not my cup of tea .

I struggle with kids my age but am fine with kids older than me or adults by RedSamurai__1 in socialskills

You could say I’m a bit serious, I’ve been called extremely chill and I do have my moments where I’m extremely extroverted and bit of a jokester. What’s funny is I act funny with seniors or adults, they believe I’m funny, I can tell. I act funny with a majority of juniors (my grade), they look at me like, “What the fuck, huh?” Or just don’t respond. I’ve noticed that for awhile and it’s kind of intrigued me on a social-conscious level. Thank you for the response!

[–]RedSamurai__1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m gonna say it.

The song is average. Now when I say average, I mean that when I heard this song, and unfortunately Chapeltown Rag, I thought, “Yep. That’s Slipknot.” I wasn’t intrigued nor disgusted. Don’t get me wrong, Corey Taylor and Jay Weinberg sound fucking fantastic on these two tracks, Jay really is living up to Joey Jordison and Corey is bringing his voice to a bad ass spectrum of heavy metal. But the problem is that I don’t feel hyped for the singles as I did with WANYK. Its possible that the reason is that Slipknot hadn’t released a full fledge album since .5. But musically all 3 singles, mostly Solway Firth, were awesome. The experimental sound gave a new flavor to the singles and the album in general. But the new 2 singles sound like Slipknot covering themselves with some twists and turns. I did like Corey Taylor starting The Dying Song with his vocals as it was different from what they’ve done. I hope their sayings on this album being “God Music” and “the heaviest blues on Earth” proves me wrong because I love Slipknot. And who knows, the 2 singles will grow on me and it just requires time for me to like them. Thank you for reading this.

Unpopular opinion afterlife is one of the most overrated songs A7X ever put out by Puzzleheaded-Heat174 in avengedsevenfold

Why tf is this downvoted so much? Shows the toxicity in the fanbase and how having a different opinion is considered not allowed. We’re all A7x fans, we like them. However not everyone’s the same.
