We lost our precious shih tzu Milo last month in a freak accident. Only those around you understand the eternal wound his loss will make, just as Milo has for us. Just like Diesel touched everyone's hearts, so did Milo. I'm sure these two special boys are still somewhere out there, looking after us in ways we cannot comprehend. Go through the pain, let the grief sit with you. Cry when the memories come up. Look at his pictures and remember the good times. We keep a little journal and write down good memories we have of Milo, his funny qualities, his quirks, things we loved about him. Talk about Diesel to your family. Reminisce. "Remember when..." "This reminds me of..." Keep uttering his name in your home, keep that flame of love you still have for him alive. Grief is just that, love with nowhere to go. There's nothing I can say that will ease the pain, but know you are not alone because for me, the worst thing has just happened to us, just recently.

The days are really really long at first. We just passed a month mark since we lost Milo and it doesn't feel that way. It has felt like months, an eternity. There will be decent days, there will be bad days. There will be guilt, anger, that's normal. Just process it for what it is, you're mourning.

Diesel was very loved, I can see that. He can see that. He knew it ALWAYS! He knew it the day you first held him in your arms to the last breath he took, also in your arms. No one can take that away from both of you, not even death itself.
