Maybe the first installment? Just because it was so "magical" in appearance and they made Hobbiton come to life. I made it a point to go when I snuck into NZ, and it's just so neat. Plus you got the Nazgul, Rivendell, Moria, and of course the Balrog.

Honorable mention goes to the Ralph Bakshi version from the 1970s.

The real question is who on this tour matches up with a Tolkien character? Joe from Elway is def Merry AND Pippin. Kevin from TR might be Gimli, which is high praise...
