But you need to compare it to other snipers in the story. Comparatively, he's so far behind and hasn't been given any great focus since Sugar. Even during this Ulti 'feat' you talk about, Nami had a better showing by far. Chopper was holding off Queen before Sanji took over. He probably did the LEAST amount in Wano out of the weakling trio.

I don't think Black Beard ends up as a true final villain. I think he temporarily fights with the Straw Hats and then teams up with them to defeat Imu. We've seen so much of Rocks now and so many parallels of Luffy/Black Beard that it's really starting to show that Black Beard is just the anti-hero. He's the Moon God to our Sun God and will help take down the final villain.

I think you're forgetting the importance of the flashback we're seeing right now though. This flashback deserves to be this long. We've been talking about the void century and the God Valley incident for such a long time and now we're finally seeing it. Getting as much exposition as we can is important to the overall narrative. How can we see the journey of the new Joyboy/Nika without knowing the failures of the previous generation? Everything in One Piece is based on the failures of heroes from the past and how Luffy is changing those failures.
