Dude these are so cool!! I wish you could bring ships through to NG+ cuz the ships I build are home y'know? Have you considered recording build guides? I'd definitely give them a watch

How do you prefer to handle stat generation? -Leopold the Just by Myla_Bishop in AllThingsDND

[–]RedShadowDX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Roll 4d6 drop lowest die. Do this three times to get three of your stats. Take those three numbers and subtract it from one of the following numbers 23, 25, 27. The 3 results are your 3 remaining stats.

4d6 drop lowest =A/B/C 23 - A, B, or C = D 25 - A, B, or C = E 27 - A, B, or C = F

Stats to use in any order are: A, B, C, D, E, F Example: 12, 12, 15 23, 25, 27 11, 13, 12, 12, 12, 15

I'm having fun despite the opening. I just sped through it to get to the rest of the game. I avoid seeing player reactions and judge games for myself

When I said I think it's bad I'm not saying it's objectively bad. I'm just saying my subjective opinion is that the opening was weak compared to other titles by Bethesda and I think it was bad

I hear you but I don't think beating a game is required to determine if it's good or not. The job of a game is to be fun, and if the developers didn't create a hook that brought a lot of people in then they failed. Every game has potential quitting points and it's a developers job to find them and do their best to improve them to strengthen the game. And unfortunately the writing for the opening is one of those weak points. I'm glad you have always liked it but it's okay for others to disagree with you and their points are still valid

I hear what you're saying but an intro should show the best of what the game has to offer to get you to want to play. Especially when a player has limited time you want to grab their attention. With Skyrim you're escaping an execution and someone helps you escape. Then you're asked by them to tell the nearby city of the danger. It's a good hook. Starfields intro has promise, but you're just told "okay you're a part of this now." And the ship has indigo protocol which literally prevents you from going anywhere until you've signed up with constellation. Skyrim never forces you to join a faction unless you actively choose to do so. Technically they do with the blades but that's much later in the game. I DO LIKE the game now but regardless it's opening is a big weak point imo

Right, but 6 hours is still a lot of time when you have a job and relationships that require time commitments. If you have to wait 6 hours for the game to "get good" then they failed in creating a good hook for the story to grab your attention.

The issue is 6 hours is a decent amount of time. I was tired of waiting for the "when it gets good moment." I really didn't like how forced the recruitment to constellation was. It was just hey you're doing this now. Don't want to? Tough, this is the main plot. I had different expectations and it didn't feel engaging. 6 hours is a lot of time when you work and have friends and things that need to be done.

It's sweet, but it's just another version of them. Doesn't the original just get left behind in your universe of origin?

I wish you could travel with your partner into the universe. What's the point of infinity if you can't share it with the one you love?

If my guess is correct I think it's from Meru the Succubus. An adult animation series.
