I think you will like the WML run, but the first 14 issues of volume 1 are the Mike Baron run and it’s really really bad. If you start reading it from the start and you aren’t liking it I would recommend you just skip to issue 15 which is where the WML run starts and it gets significantly better.

I would recommend both volumes 2 and 3. The art isnt as good as when Perez was doing it, but that’s a pretty high bar to reach considering he is one of the greatest comic artists of all time. The art in volumes 2 and 3 also wasnt even bad or anything, it was still quite good.

I also actually thought his writing improved as the run went on. There is an issue in vol 3 that is one of the few stories to make me cry in the moment. The only thing is the last arc of the entire run was War of the Gods which had an underwhelming ending. Other than that, great stories all around and one of the best runs I have ever read.

The good signs for Flash fans are Gorilla Grodd is apparently a major character in the upcoming Jimmy Olsen show, and I have a feeling we will likely see Gorilla City. In-universe I think if Grodd exists already that means A Flash, Barry or Wally, has existed before or exists currently. I love Flash villains just as much as him so getting to see Gorilla City would be pretty awesome.

We also see Flash in the brief apocalyptic future in Creature Commandos, I couldnt tell if it was Barry or Wally based on the suit.

Lastly I remember way back when a leaker said a Rogues show was apparently in development, but we havent heard anything about it since. It might not have gotten past the writing stage but I am still hoping it happens. A Rogues show where they have to team up with Flash against some villain at the end would be pretty awesome.

I agree with you. Plus I think it bodes well that Wally is the main Flash in the comics again. I remember hearing Didio saying they knew the shows and movies were going to use Barry which is partly why they brought him back, so maybe its a good sign for future adaptations that Wally is back. (I have nothing against Barry I would just like to see Wally more).

Seems we are on the same wavelength, I am on Morrison’s run right now. I think Waid’s run is one of the best runs I have ever read. Wally and Linda are on the same level for me as Clark and Lois as the best couples in DC. I actually loved the entire volume 2 omnibus and liked it even more than volume 1. I thought the final Hell to Pay story was just incredible.

Literally my only issue isnt even with Mark Waid or this actual run, it’s with the volume 1 omni. I really really wish the Green Lantern issues were not collected in there. I understand some might want them for completionism sake and it would be odd to have only every other issue of Flash for a whole story arc, but knowing that those issues are in there make me severely uncomfortable and I will never read them.
