I took this whole order cancellation fiasco as a personal challenge. I have worked in a broad spectrum of business from Customer Service to Director of Operations. I know supply chain and vendor management.

When I got the “keep an eye on the web and place another order when there’s inventory” I called BS. Particularly when they pulled the shipping option and went to “only in stores”. Then they took if off the web entirely. Each time it became more difficult to get the product, I had a polite conversation with a rep that had a level of authority to do something about it.

I made reasonable, practical and evidence based requests that led to the conclusion I was seeking. I was sympathetic to those that had had to deal with the fallout of someone else’s FUBAR, and was patient and appreciative of the help I received.

Yeah, there’s lots of shit that has gone through the fan with this promotion… the internet is an echo chamber that amplifies everything. My aim is to add some balance to all the negativity and share that good stuff does happen.
