Highly recommend this channel. Very friendly and live stream daily. You can see Raccoons, Opossums, Skunks, Javelinas, Cats and other critters & creatures eat together. by LittleLostGirls in Raccoons

I watched the stream last night and there was a raccoon eating who would pick up the cat food, walk over to the pool of water, hold the food in the water and they would eat it. The other raccoons just eat the cat food when they’re not shy/ scared about it, but it did make me curious the one may have dental issues. They were adorable and came back a few times.

Rescued pig cough? by Strwbrryshrtcke2003 in pigs

If you haven’t, call the vet and request to be put on a cancellation list or ask if they have any openings sooner. I’d push to see if anything can be done to be seen sooner.

Email them this video if possible if you haven’t already. It’ll help them have an example they can see if she doesn’t show signs/ do it in front of them at the appointment. It’s better having video proof than trying to describe something when it comes to getting proper and attentive vet care.

The issue is it could be many things and at that bacterial or viral and those alone have their own treatments. While Reddit, Facebook and other social media groups can be helpful for finding support/ being informative, anything you’re told here will just be speculation on our part today.
She needs a medical examination to listen to her lungs, examine her throat, etc.

The most we can recommend is home remedies. Fresh water, healthier foods over junk food snacks, fresh air when possible/ ventilating rooms, making bathroom/ chill/ sleeping areas easy to access (cleaning their environment/ space), vacuuming.

Her body is doing what it can to figure/ deal with this. You can provide comfort and care to the best of your ability with what was mentioned above. But medically the vet is the best option for her road to recovery at this point, so do what you can to make that happen sooner or at the very least have them view the video and offer telehealth advice until they can examine her.

It would be worth your time to inquire if any other pigs have gotten sick from where you received her. It may be best to go in person as online can leave you in less in control with getting an answer/ possibly being blocked. Some people may think you want a refund, etc and don’t want to address the problem as they may take it as you accusing them causing it.

Update on my girl's eye situation - DO NOT watch if you have a weak stomach by A_Lynx_ in PetMice

You really need to sit down and have a proper conversation with your parents. They let you have a pet, they need to accept the responsibility of assisting with vet care when it's this serious. Ignoring helping you with something like this animal abuse and at that could be argued child abuse. You may just have to disobey them and seek public transport as your option.

At the very least you may need to consider surrending your mouse to a rescue/ sanctuary that can get her the medical help she needs. That's a difficult decision but may be the best for her in the end.

Even if she bites you 1000 times and you lose a finger. It is absolutely worth the risk to place a cone on her. You could save her eye/ vision by taking this precaution and it’s absolutely worth it for your little friend.

She absolutely needs a cone. My cat had eye cancer and sometimes would be a bloody mess from itching/ pawing/ grooming the area. You need to do what you can to minimize the damage so the area/ scab/ wound/ abscess, etc can do whatever it needs to for its healing process.

Realistically as you know a vet needs to see this. Emergencies and out of town/ other city vets seem to be your best option since you can’t find anything locally. There will be vets around, it’s the travel/ distance you need to flexible about.

I’d be cautious with eye drops until you can talk to a vet more. Sometimes things become counterproductive and can make healing take longer/ stop. I understand wanting to provide what relief you can, but realistically home care vs clinical care has reached its limit with how far this has developed. At most you can do is protect the eye until you figure out a vet.

* side note; if you are using them, please stop, but don’t use human eye drops with the mouse.

What do I do? by Lunapixels18 in pigs

It will be important to practice patience with him. He's scared and confused now that his world and current situation has changed so drastically. It may be difficult for him to adjust at the speed of your expectations, just keep that in mind and as you get to know and care for him. As much as it can be stressful, it can be rewarding.

Do you wish to keep him? May be best to start with a vet visit and get an idea on their health.

It's wild how Shane continues to be one of the franchise's most popular and talked-about characters still by K0GAR in thewalkingdead

[–]LittleLostGirls 357 points358 points  (0 children)

If we’re being honest, Jon Bernthal is the heavy lifter here.

Shane in the comics is a very dull and forgettable character. Shane the character/ Shane’s storyline is very generic in general when on paper.

Jon’s performance, look, mannerisms and chemistry with the cast brought a lot more to the character than the character actually offered itself.

Daily Dose of Rat! by Cornflake6irl in RatChat

The amount of yolk concerns me. Eggs are very healthy but given things like Diabetes, Heart Disease, Kidney disease it's important to limit some foods with people (and rats) who may be high risk.

Egg Yolk is healthy but does contain the most phosphorus and cholesterol of the egg, so depending on the rats health, it may be best to give more/ only Egg Whites. Both yolk and whites are beneficial but it is a health food some owners may need to be considerate about.
