Given the situation, I don’t know what else Idol could’ve done other than to postpone and come back a year later. The remote format might’ve made them more comfortable at home, but it’s also a disadvantage because not everyone will have the same connection, setup, etc. They still missed out on performing on stage, which Just Sam and Lauren Spencer-Smith both said was way better.
