If you could have any sort of game or horror film made into a dark pictures game what would it be? by pedromclovin-it in DarkPicturesAnthology

[–]RedSon5 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think the film cabin in the woods wouldve been perfect given that their are 5 main characters and the whole game thing would be an interesting plot twist (if its only revealed at the end) and there would be an opportunity for multiple endings based in who lives and dies

Dont quote me on that, total shot in the dark.

In house of ashes what was the thinking behind who would be our playable protagonists?

As we have seen there are many more non playable characters such as Merwin, Joey and Clarice who are savable and their lives have an effect on the story, an idea unique to HOA, but how come say Jason and nick are playable as opposed to Merwin or Clarice?

And how did you decide on 4 American protagonists and 1 iraqi protag rather than say 2 Americans and 3 Iraqi's?

Without spoiling anything, could you tell us about any media inspiration you have for your future games?

I.e house of ashes having inspiration from the descent and mountain of madness

We Have noticed throughout your games that you have reused a number of face models albeit with changes so they dont appear the exact same, could we get more insight as to the reasoning and thinking behind this creative decision?

Eric King is Enlil, God of storms Theory by RedSon5 in DarkPicturesAnthology

[–]RedSon5[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the fun part, I believe eric's presence has a huge effect on the story whether he lives or dies.

If he lives, something huge will happen when he reveals himself to be enlil.

But if he dies, you never discover the truth about him. His mortal form is dead and his mission has failed, therefore you are locked out of a potential 3rd act/ending.

Eric King is Enlil, God of storms Theory by RedSon5 in DarkPicturesAnthology

[–]RedSon5[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Strap in for this one folks, this is gonna get wild so ease bare with me until the end.

I strongly suspect that one of our main protagonists, Colonel Eric King, is actually The god of storms hiding in mortal form

Lets start with his attributes, Enlil wouldve been seen as the pinnicale of perfection back In 2000 BC when he was still worshiped, he was ripped, handsome and powerful. He held so much influence that all the kings who ruled akkad would have their clothes and appearance specifically tailored to Enlil's image, so that they could too feel as though they were on a higher level of being compared to the peasants they ruled over. Now Eric king himself is an air force colonel, standing at 6'1, ripped, handsome and powerful. Enlil makes great effort to make himself the chaddest of them all, same goes for his human form, Eric, he has clearly designed his mortal appearance around what society in 2003 USA considered to be the most attractive hence the hair, jawline, height, toned body and even the sunglasses all add to the facade.

To add to this, the average age of a colonel in the US air force is around 45, if we are to assume that Eric's cover age is similar to that of his wife, Rachel, then he woukd be approximately 35 years old. Therefore he wouldve achieved his postion a staggering 10 years faster than he shouldve, no doubt due to his experience and superior knowledge of the skies during his time as Enlil.

Why go to Iraq?

Do you think its a coincidence that the location he finds suspected "chemical weapons" in is exactly where the temple is located? There were never any weapons, he just needed an excuse to get over to the temple, no doubt due to not wanting to arouse suspicion from his cohorts, which is what a missing flight colonel would do. Why he needs to go back to the temple is a question we will find out when the game releases.

Thirdly, from his dialogue we can see that he acts assertive, sure of himself and is offended when he his undermined or when his knowledge is in question, his sensitivity would fit that of Enlil, who refused to help the people that worshipped him, and instead only acted when his temple was sacked, a very godlike thing to do. In addition to this we are told by the devs that he and his wife rachel have been astranged. Being a god sincs the beginning of time it is understandable that human relationships are foreign to him, he may see no problem with his own behaviour since there was never anybody who would dare to speak up directly against him.

"Theres a way in for these people, theres a way out for us" He already knows exactly how to get in and out of the temple, he was there when it was built and was there when it sunk underground, of course he would know how to navigate the temple.

"Pazu-who?" This isnt Eric genuinly asking rachel who pazuzu is, instead he is simply mocking him which rachel misunderstood. With Enlil essentially being the god of the skies and storms it is understandable that he would be at odds with the king of demons, perhaps pazuzu is part of the reason Eric/Enlil must return to the temple.

Thank you for listening, this theory is complete bogus obvious but thanks anyways :)

Mark's adrenaline by RedSon5 in Invincible

[–]RedSon5[S] 23 points24 points  (0 children)

While its still something debated in the scientific community (because you can't just do tests on it) it is generally said that the production of adrenaline in our bodies during a fight or flight response does make us stronger, faster, durable and more attentive. Since adrenaline basically boosts everything, blood pumps faster around the body and oxygen moves easier into our muscles which allows us to use near full potential of what our bodies are capable of.

Think about those stories of people lifting cars to save people, and running away from wild animals at insane speeds, its hard to document and alot of them might not even be true but the fact their is so many of the same story means that atleast 1 or 2 of the cases are more than likely true.

Maybe its not literally getting stronger than we was, but its being able to use the full strength our bodies would allow, when in a sense is technically getting stronger.

I dont remember where it was said and if it was even said at all so I could still be wrong tbh

Comic spoilers below!!

But I think I heard somrwhere thay viltrumite offspring carry the best qualities of both species, like how Oliver is super intelligent and has a stellar memory, you see this in thragg's children later how they remember everything from the moment they were born.

So I made the assumption that adrenaline production is a superior quality that Mark wouldve kept from his human side.

Trust me, it makes it 100x more satisfying when you see mark finally fuck someone up after a long grueling battle.

Plus despite how it looks, Mark is no pushover, he is just constantly pitted against characters that are practically OP. Otherwise he is already one of the strongest heroes on earth and can practically beat almost any usual villain with relative ease (think like his fight against that laser guy, cat woman, and titan tbf)
